Este trabajo evaluó como la temperatura, precipitación y evaporación afectan el crecimiento radial de Pinus patula bajo dos métodos de manejo silvícola (Método de Desarrollo Silvícola-MDS, y Método Mexicano de Ordenación de Bosques Irregulares-MMOBI) y un sitio de referencia sin manejo. Se recopilaron datos dendrocronológicos a nivel árbol en 34 sitios de 1000 m2, correlacionándolos con información climática diaria. Las series dendrocronológicas se transformaron en incremento en área basal (IAB, cm2 año-1), y se modelaron mediante modelos mixtos. La precipitación fue la variable con mayor influencia en el crecimiento (r = 0.73, enero 13 a mayo 28) mientras que la temperatura mínima la menor (r = 0.37, marzo 01 a marzo 22). La temperatura máxima (r = -0.58, abril 04 a mayo 15) y la evaporación presentaron efectos negativos (r = -0.67, abril 02 a junio 30). El IAB más alto se observó en MMOBI ([15.9 ± 0.44] cm2 año-1), seguido de MDS ([13.0 ± 0.50] cm2 año-1) y Referencia ([11.0 ± 0.80] cm2 año-1). El modelo mixto incluyó el método de manejo, área basal, densidad arbórea, precipitación y evaporación (R2marginal = 0.46 y R2 condicional = 0.70). El arbolado de referencia, si bien ha mantenido su ritmo de crecimiento, está por debajo de aquellos con manejo. Incorporar información dendrocronológica a la silvicultura permite evaluar con mayor detalle la respuesta de los árboles ante perturbaciones climáticas y de manejo forestal.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The combined effect of climate and forest management has not been studied widely in Mexican forests. This study evaluated how temperature, precipitation, and evaporation affect the radial growth of Pinus patula under two silvicultural management methods (Silvicultural Development Method-MDS, and the Mexican Method of Irregular Forest Management-MMOBI) and an unmanaged reference site. Dendrochronological data were collected at the tree level from 34 fixed-dimension sites (1000 m²), correlating them with daily climatic information. The dendrochronological series were transformed into basal area increment (BAI, cm² year&#8315;¹) and modeled using mixed-effects models. Precipitation was the variable with the greatest influence on growth (r = 0.73, January 13 to May 28), while minimum temperature had the least impact (r = 0.37, March 01 to March 22). Maximum temperature (r = -0.58, April 04 to May 15) and evaporation showed negative effects (r = -0.67, April 02 to June 30). The highest BAI was observed in MMOBI ([15.9 ± 0.44] cm² year&#8315;¹), followed by MDS ([13.0 ± 0.50] cm² year&#8315;¹) and the reference site ([11.0 ± 0.80] cm² year&#8315;¹).
