<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1026-87742022000100054&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1026-87742022000100054&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1026-87742022000100054&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El análisis de los diferentes rasgos que caracterizan un paisaje, constituye un requisito esencial para conocer la evolución geomorfológica, repercutiendo en gran medida en el desarrollo productivo de una región, conociendo los aspectos positivos y negativos que pueden afectarlos o potenciarlos. Para ello, es necesario reconocer, caracterizar y clasificar las morfologías presentes, que dan cuenta de los factores y procesos que actuaron en su formación, y contribuyen en la interpretación y reconstrucción de la evolución del relieve a diversas escalas. La cuenca del río Amarillo se encuentra en la Sierra de Famatina, la cual está ubicada en el centro-norte de la provincia de La Rioja, en el noroeste de la Argentina. Se llevaron a cabo tareas de gabinete y de campo con el fin de analizar, reconocer e identificar los principales rasgos geomorfológicos presentes, y establecer su disposición espacial. En los sectores más elevados de la cuenca se destacan geoformas asociadas a procesos glaciales, periglaciales y gravitacionales, propiciados por las bajas temperaturas, fuertes pendientes y falta de vegetación. Las formas fluviales, tanto de acumulación como de erosión, fueron identificados en toda el área analizada, mientras que se describen depósitos lacustres en donde se interpreta que su formación estuvo asociado al evento árido a nivel global definido como Meghalayan Stage. Esta distribución y tipología de geoformas, condicionadas por la tectónica y los procesos exógenos, propiciaron una compleja evolución geomorfológica en el Cuaternario de la cuenca del río Amarillo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The analysis of the different features that characterize a landscape is an essential requirement to know the geomorphological evolution, having a great impact on the productive development of a region, knowing the positive and negative aspects that can affect or enhance them. For this, it is necessary to recognize, characterize and classify the morphologies present, which account for the factors and processes that acted in their formation, and contribute to the interpretation and reconstruction of the evolution of the relief at various scales. The Amarillo river basin is located in the Sierra de Famatina, which is located in the center-north of the province of La Rioja, in northwestern Argentina. Office and field tasks were carried out in order to analyze, recognize and identify the main geomorphological features present, and establish their spatial arrangement. In the highest sectors of the basin, geoforms associated with glacial, periglacial and gravitational processes stand out, caused by low temperatures, steep slopes and lack of vegetation. Fluvial forms, both accumulation and erosion, were identified throughout the analysed area, while lacustrine deposits are described where it is interpreted that their formation was associated with the global arid event defined as the Meghalayan Stage. This distribution and typology of geoforms, conditioned by tectonics and exogenous processes, led to a complex geomorphological evolution in the Quaternary of the Amarillo river basin.]]></p></abstract>
