El objetivo fue caracterizar y comparar la estructura arbórea en cuatro localidades con bosques mixtos maduros considerados primarios, cuyo dosel es dominado por Picea martinezii. En ellas se estableció un sitio de 2500 m2 en donde se registró información dasométrica de todos los individuos arbóreos, misma que fue analizada con índices estructurales como Clark y Evans (R), mezcla de especies (Mi), diferenciación (Ti) y dominancia dimensional (Ui). El análisis general indicó una distribución aleatoria (R cercano 1), un grado de mezcla alto (Mi = 0.75) y una diferenciación y dominancia dimensional equilibrada (valores de Ti y Ui cercanos a 0.50). Las condiciones estructurales estables y favorables que presentan estas comunidades remarcan la importancia ambiental de seguir conservándolas, ya que estas representan un gran potencial para la provisión de servicios ambientales y conservación de biodiversidad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The influence of human activities on ecosystems has spread over almost the entire earth's surface; however, there are still some with little or no activity that are considered primary. The objective was to characterize and compare the tree structure in four localities in old-growth mixed forests considered primary, with Picea martinezii as a dominating species. In those areas, a site of 2500 m2 was established, where dasometric information of all tree individuals was recorded and analyzed with structural indices such as Clark and Evans (R), species mixture (Mi), differentiation (Ti), and dimensional dominance (Ui). The general analysis indicated a random distribution (R close to 1), with a high degree of mixing (Mi = 0.75) and balanced differentiation and dimensional dominance (Ti and Ui values close to 0.50). It is concluded that the studied forests have similar and stable structural conditions.]]></p></abstract>
