El objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar el rendimiento de grano de los híbridos por efecto de la aplicación, y testigo sin aplicar, de micorriza (Glomus intraradices), en cinco híbridos de maíz en sus versiones fértiles y androestériles. La evaluación se realizó por medio de cuatro experimentos, dos ubicados en la Facultad de Estudios Superiores FES Cuautitlán-UNAM y dos en el Campo Experimental del Valle de México CEVAMEX - INIFAP, en Texcoco, México. Se utilizó un diseño de bloques completos al azar con cuatro repeticiones; las siembras de los materiales se efectuaron en la segunda quincena de mayo y primera de junio de 2012. El análisis estadístico de los datos fue factorial, donde los factores principales fueron ambientes, genotipos, androesterilidad/fertilidad, aplicación o no de biofertilizante, así como las interacciones de los mismos. En los rendimientos se detectó significancia debido a los ambientes y genotipos, no así para ningún otro factor o interacciones. La media general del rendimiento fue de 8294 kg ha1. El rendimiento obtenido en la segunda fecha de siembra en la FES Cuautitlán-UNAM fue de 9939 kg ha-1, siendo superior al de la fecha 1 del CEVAMEX (6071 kg ha&#8209;1). No hubo efecto de la aplicación de micorriza en el rendimiento medio de los híbridos (8310 kg ha-1), el cual fue similar al del testigo sin aplicación de micorriza (8279 kg ha-1). El genotipo con mayor rendimiento fue Tsíri PUMA, con 9557 kg ha-1, y resultó diferente estadísticamente al del H-47 AE (8692 kg ha-1). TSÍRI PUMA I y PUMA 1183 AE rindieron 8687 kg ha-1 y 8150 kg ha&#8209;1, respectivamente. Por otro lado, el rendimiento medio de la versión androestéril de los híbridos fue de 8447 kg ha&#8209;1, siendo similar estadísticamente al promedio de la versión fértil (8142 kg ha-1). Si bien la aplicación de micorriza a la semilla no propició un efecto significativo en el rendimiento promedio de los genotipos, es conveniente verificar en ciclos siguientes en los maíces androestériles y fértiles, con manejo de fechas de siembra diferentes, donde pudiera expresarse el efecto de Glomus intraradices, y contar con mayor información de la respuesta a este biofertilizante.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary: The use of improved maize varieties and biofertilizers made with mycorrhizal fungi favor nutrition and complement the use of chemical fertilizers to increase production. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of application of mycorrhiza (Glomus intraradices) on grain yield of five maize hybrids in their fertile and male sterility versions and compared with an untreated control. The evaluation was carried out in four experiments: two located in the Facultad de Educación Superior, FES Cuautitlán-UNAM, and two in the Experimental Stations of the Valley of Mexico CEVAMEX-INIFAP, in Texcoco, Mexico. The objective was to study the effect of the biofertilizer on grain yield of hybrids. A complete randomized block design with four replicates was used; the experiments were planted in the second half of May and first half of June 2012. Statistical analysis of the data was factorial, where the main factors were environments, genotypes, male sterility / fertility, application or not of biofertilizer, as well as interactions. For grain yield, significances were detected for environments and for genotypes, but not for any other factor or interaction. The overall mean grain yield was 8294 kg ha-1. The yield obtained from the crop planted on the second planting date at FES Cuautitlán-UNAM was 9939 kg ha-1, which was higher than that of the crop planted on the first date at CEVAMEX (6071 kg ha-1). There was no effect of mycorrhiza application on the average yield of the hybrids (8310 kg ha-1), which was similar to the control without mycorrhiza (8279 kg ha&#8209;1). The highest yielding genotype was Tsíri PUMA, with 9557 kg ha&#8209;1, which was statistically different from H-47 AE (8692 kg ha-1). Tsíri PUMA I yielded 8687 kg ha-1 and PUMA 1183 AE 8150 kg ha&#8209;1. Average yield of the male-sterility version of the hybrids was 8447 kg ha&#8209;1, which was statistically similar to the average of the fertile version (8142 kg ha&#8209;1). Although application of mycorrhiza to seed did not have a significant effect on the average yield of the genotypes, it is recommendable to verify this result in fertile and male-sterile maize in subsequent seasons, managing different sowing dates, so that the effect of Glomus intraradices can be expressed and could provide more information on the response to this biofertilizer.]]></p></abstract>
