Se utiliza una metodología mixta que combina la triangulación de información obtenida a partir del análisis documental de la literatura científica, el análisis de contenido de los sitios web de las bibliotecas y la opinión de los bibliotecarios, con el objetivo de ofrecer una radiografía lo más cercana posible al fenómeno analizado. Los resultados muestran que en el contexto de las BNI el desarrollo de las prácticas sobre Alfin es muy incipiente y los casos que destacan son puntuales, con la puesta en marcha de algunos proyectos específicos. No se evidencia que Alfin sea un programa fundamental y transversal para este tipo de bibliotecas ni que sirva de referencia para otras con las que trabaja, teniendo en cuenta su función &#8220;rectora&#8221; en los diferentes países iberoamericanos. Las conclusiones evidencian, por un lado, la necesidad de una mayor concienciación por parte de las bibliotecas nacionales (BN) acerca de la importancia que tiene la formación en Alfin de profesionales y usuarios, apostando por una mayor capacitación y formación competencial; y, por otro, la necesidad de fomentar la cultura de la planificación, formación y evaluación de Alfin, para diagnosticar áreas de mejora y poder diseñar propuestas formativas adecuadas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: We present a characterization of how the Ibero-American National Libraries (INL) are basing their users training approach on the paradigm of Information Literacy (IL). With the aim of providing an accurate picture the phenomenon under study, this research employs a mixed methodology combining triangulation of information obtained from documentary analysis of the scientific literature, content analysis of the Websites of libraries and librarians&#8217; viewpoints. In the context of inl, results show that the development of information literacy practice is very new and the cases highlighted correlate with the implementation of specific projects. There is no evidence that il is fundamental and transversal in this type of libraries, or that they serve as a reference for other types of libraries where it operates, despite its &#8220;guiding&#8221; function in diverse Ibero-American countries. The findings show the need for greater awareness on the part of the National Libraries of the importance of information literacy training of professionals and users which should strive to provide training focused on competence building. Moreover, the study reveals the need to promote the culture of planning, training and evaluation of information literacy and to design appropriate training proposals on the basis of identified areas of improvement.]]></p></abstract>
