Se utiliza la evaluación PLANEA 2017 para estimar modelos logísticos sobre las expectativas educativas. Se observa que las expectativas de cursar al menos una licenciatura son ligeramente menos sensibles al desempeño escolar en los jóvenes de orígenes sociales altos que en los de orígenes bajos, posiblemente debido al mayor papel que la educación cumple para la reproducción social de los primeros. Para las expectativas de hacer un posgrado se observó una menor sensibilidad al desempeño en los orígenes bajos, que podría indicar una mayor cautela a la hora de definir expectativas ambiciosas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This article looks at whether the relationship between educational performance and expectations varies as a function of socioeconomic background for young Mexicans in the last year of high school. The author uses the Planea 2017 evaluation to estimate logistical models about educational expectations. He observes that the expectations for studying at least a bachelor&#8217;s degree are slightly less sensitive to scholastic achievement in young people from high social backgrounds than among those of more modest social backgrounds, possibly due to the greater role that education plays for the social reproduction of the former. He observed less sensitivity to performance for the expectations of doing post-graduate work among those of lower social backgrounds, which might indicate greater caution when defining ambitious expectations.]]></p></abstract>
