Con esta metodología de investigación se busca responder a esta pregunta: ¿de qué manera contribuye el sonido con los objetivos políticos y culturales de las marchas? La etnografía sonora para este fin se desarrolló mediante trabajo de campo realizado en marchas multitudinarias que ocurrieron en la Ciudad de México entre 2014 y 2020, alineadas en su mayoría a la izquierda del espectro político. Con este acercamiento, que forma parte del giro sensorial en sociología y antropología, se pretende contribuir a la restitución de las dimensiones sensorial, afectiva y corporal de los procesos socioculturales, largamente ignoradas por las ciencias sociales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This article describes sound ethnography, a procedure for gathering and analyzing data that explores the sound and musical dimensions of collective action, concretely protest marches. This research methodology seeks to answer the question, &#8220;How does sound contribute to the political and cultural objectives of marches?&#8221; Sound ethnology for this purpose was developed in fieldwork carried out in mass marches in Mexico City between 2014 and 2020, most aligned with the political left. This approach, which is part of the sensorial turn of sociology and anthropology, aims to contribute to restoring the sensorial, emotional, and corporeal dimensions of sociocultural processes, long ignored by the social sciences.]]></p></abstract>
