Encuentro que el período clásico usó su figura para recordar el rol de las mujeres en sus estructuras sociales; el Renacimiento, para advertir sobre el peligro de su naturaleza y la necesidad de su dominación, y la Modernidad, para enunciar la resistencia de la otredad subordinada. Así, a través de un análisis comprehensivo de sus versiones y variantes a nivel literario e iconográfico, argumento que la articulación entre identidad y otredad en este mito es un dispositivo para su transformación y pervivencia.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: In this paper, I examine which elements of the myth of Atalanta enabled its survival from Antiquity to the present day. I find in the classical period her figure was used to recall the role of women in society; the Renaissance, to warn about the danger of her nature and the need for her domination; and Modernity, to enunciate the resistance of subordinated alterity. Thus, through a comprehensive study of literary and iconographic versions and variants of the myth, I argue that the articulation between identity and alterity is a device for its transformation and survival.]]></p></abstract>
