En el presente estudio se contrasta la percepción de los estudiantes y profesores sobre la relación existente entre los criterios de evaluación empleados en las asignaturas y la categoría profesional de los docentes. Utilizamos una metodología cualitativa a través de la técnica de grupos de discusión y observamos que los docentes asocian la calidad de la titulación con la categoría profesional del profesor, mientras que los alumnos atienden a la implicación en el aula y la disponibilidad de los profesores como los factores más determinantes.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Educational quality is factor of particular relevance to the Spanish university system. This study contrasts the perceptions of students and professors regarding the relationship between the evaluation criteria and the professional level or status of the professors. The study employed a qualitative methodology involving focus groups. The results show that teachers associate quality with professional status, while students identify classroom involvement and the availability of professors as the most decisive factors determining the quality of teaching.]]></p></abstract>
