Los datos disponibles en investigaciones, incluyendo los informes del INEE de 2014, sugieren que el sistema educativo mexicano está permeado por una dinámica que estratifica el acceso a los aprendizajes, lo que, se infiere, reproduce desigualdades. En esta perspectiva, el documento muestra nueva evidencia empírica de cómo la desigualdad social basada en el ingreso (medido por índice de Gini en los estados del país) se asocia a sistemas educativos estratificados socioeconómicamente incluso luego de descontar el efecto de las modalidades escolares con desventaja social (i.e. CONAFE y primarias indígenas). Los datos que se ofrecen indican que en México existen mecanismos de reproducción social que traducen de forma eficiente desigualdades contextuales en desigualdades entre centros escolares, lo que hace inequitativo el acceso a los aprendizajes de algunos segmentos de la población.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: A trend has emerged on the poverty studies agenda that analyzes the relation between poverty and educational inequality. Available research data, including INEE reports for 2014, suggest that the Mexican education system is permeated by a dynamic that stratifies access to learning, which, it may be inferred, increases inequalities. From this perspective, the document presents new empirical evidence of how income-based social inequality (measured in the country's states by the Gini coefficient) is associated with education systems that are stratified socioeconomically, even when the effect of modes of schooling aimed at social disadvantages is taken into account (i.e. CONAFE and indigenous elementary schools). The available data indicate that in Mexico there are social reproduction mechanisms that effectively translate contextual inequalities into inequalities between schools, with the result that access to learning for some segments of the population is unequal.]]></p></abstract>
