De acuerdo con el Comité Estatal de Sanidad Vegetal de Guanajuato (CESAVEG), el estado reportó una alta incidencia de este insecto y, debido a su abundancia, ocasionó graves pérdidas en el cultivo de sorgo. En la actualidad, el método más utilizado para el control de esta plaga es la aplicación de productos químicos, lo que provoca resistencia a los insecticidas empleados. Una manera de determinar la presencia de un mecanismo metabólico de resistencia en M. sacchari presente en el área de estudio es determinando las absorbancias enzimáticas para obtener un perfil enzimático de la plaga. Por tal motivo, el objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar el perfil enzimático que presentan las principales enzimas en las ninfas colectadas en el área sur del estado de Guanajuato, correspondiente a los municipios de Acámbaro, Apaseo el Alto, Apaseo el Grande, Celaya, Cortázar, Jerécuaro, Juventino Rosas, Tarandacuao, Tarimoro, Villagrán, y Yuriria. Los resultados mostraron que las enzimas con mayor presencia asociada a resistencia fueron &#945;esterasas, &#946;-esterasas, esterasas y oxidasas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The yellow aphid (Melanaphis sacchari) is a pest that has rapidly spread throughout Mexico, especially in states with high sorghum production. According to the Guanajuato State Plant Health Committee (CESAVEG), Guanajuato reported a high incidence of this insect that caused severe losses in sorghum crops. At present, the most frequently used method for the control of this pest is the application of chemical products. For this reason, it is now possible to detect resistance to the insecticides used. One way to determine the presence of a metabolic resistance mechanism in M. sacchari present in the study area is by determining the absorbances to obtain an enzymatic profile of the pest. For this reason, the objective of this research was to determine the enzymatic profile that the main enzymes present in the nymphs collected in the southern area of the state of Guanajuato, corresponding to the municipalities of Acámbaro, Apaseo el Alto, Apaseo el Grande, Celaya, Cortázar, Jerécuaro, Juventino Rosas, Tarandacuao, Tarimoro, Villagrán, and Yuriria.
