Para muchas especialidades su uso apenas se está iniciando, este es el caso de la cirugía del tórax. Esta es la primera experiencia del uso de un simulador de realidad virtual de broncoscopia con residentes de la especialidad independiente del año de entrenamiento.  Material y métodos:  Se realizó un estudio del 01 de abril al 30 de noviembre que incluyeron a los 11 residentes de cirugía cardiotorácica. Se usó un simulador de realidad virtual una vez a la semana con un total de 30 semanas con un equipo EndoVRTMGI Bronchoscopy Simulator CAE Healthcare, al final se aplicó una encuesta.  Resultados:  Al final se observó mejoría en su práctica y en la seguridad al haber utilizado previamente un simulador.  Conclusión:  El uso de la simulación es una herramienta invaluable en el proceso de enseñanza.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  Introduction:  The use of simulation as part of teaching has proven to be useful in the transmission and assimilation of knowledge, skills and attitudes. For many specialties its use is just beginning, this is the case of thorax surgery. This is the first experience of the use of a virtual reality simulator of bronchoscopy with residents of the specialty independent of the year of training.  Material and methods:  A study was conducted from April 1 to November 30 that included the 11 residents of cardiothoracic surgery. A virtual reality simulator was used once a week for a total of 30 weeks with an EndoVRTMGI Bronchoscopy Simulator CAE Healthcare team, at the end of a survey was applied.  Results:  In the end, there was an improvement in their practice and in safety, having previously used a simulator.  Conclusion:  The use of simulation is an invaluable tool in the teaching process.]]></p></abstract>
