</abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en">
Abstract This article examines the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) adoption on productivity and wages in the Mexican manufacturing industry from 2019 to 2022. Employing a dynamic panel model with the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), the analysis considers 79 industry branches, with attention to gender and educational disparities. The research reviews the evolution of the sector regarding technological adoption, highlighting how advanced technological branches exhibit growth in employment, wages, and technology use, whereas traditional sectors face structural setbacks that render them vulnerable to automation and international competition. The literature reviewed emphasizes that digitalization and AI are reshaping skill demands and can exacerbate inequalities, particularly related to gender and education levels. Results indicate that AI integration has contributed to productivity gains in certain branches, but also led to polarization in wage levels and participation rates among women and men. The conclusion stresses the necessity for policies that promote workforce training and inclusive employment practices, fostering salary equity and workforce adaptation in the face of technological progress. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, businesses, and scholars interested in understanding the socio-economic effects of AI-driven technological transformation within Mexico’s industrial landscape.
</abstract>
