La investigación se fundamenta en un diseño metodológico mixto de alcance exploratorio-descriptivo. Se realizó una revisión documental sistemática con instrumentos de recolección primaria: un cuestionario estructurado de 24 reactivos administrado mediante plataforma digital a una muestra no probabilística por conveniencia (n=100, rango de edad 20-30 años) de estudiantes universitarios de Seúl y Busan, complementado con una entrevista semiestructurada orientada a la recuperación de trayectorias educativas que experimentaron el estrés académico, dinámicas familiares y contextos socioculturales. Los hallazgos principales evidencian que la configuración del sistema educativo surcoreano constituye una construcción sociocultural compleja, resultante de la confluencia entre el confucianismo tradicional, las políticas gubernamentales desarrollistas implementadas desde la posguerra y las dinámicas competitivas inherentes a la economía globalizada contemporánea. Esta arquitectura institucional genera un ecosistema de alta presión que compromete sistemáticamente la salud integral de los jóvenes. El estudio concluye señalando la imperativa necesidad de desarrollar aproximaciones multidisciplinarias que integren dimensiones sociológicas, psicológicas, pedagógicas para construir comprensiones holísticas del fenómeno y posibilitar intervenciones efectivas orientadas a la preservación del bienestar estudiantil sin comprometer los logros académicos nacionales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The present study examines the issue of high academic demands in the Republic of Korea and its impact on the mental health of the student population. The research is grounded in a mixed methodological design with an exploratory-descriptive scope. A systematic documentary review was conducted alongside primary data collection instruments: a structured 24-item questionnaire administered through a digital platform to a non-probabilistic convenience sample (n=100, age range 20-30 years) of university students from Seoul and Busan, complemented by a semi-structured interview aimed at recovering educational trajectories, family dynamics, and sociocultural contexts. The main findings demonstrate that the configuration of the South Korean educational system constitutes a complex sociocultural construction, resulting from the confluence of developmental governmental policies implemented since the post-war period and the competitive dynamics inherent to the contemporary globalized economy. This institutional architecture generates a high-pressure ecosystem that systematically compromises the comprehensive health of young people. The study concludes by emphasizing the imperative need to develop multidisciplinary approaches that integrate sociological, psychological, and pedagogical dimensions to construct holistic understandings of the phenomenon and enable effective interventions aimed at preserving student well-being without compromising national academic achievements.]]></p></abstract>
