Utilizando la base de datos Scopus, se realizó una búsqueda para identificar artículos relacionados con la EP. Se recuperaron un total de 275 artículos, categorizados en áreas de investigación clínica (176) y experimental (99). El análisis se centró en las tendencias de publicación, el recuento de citas, los patrones de colaboración y los factores de impacto de las revistas. Los hallazgos clave incluyen una tendencia creciente en las publicaciones clínicas y experimentales, con contribuciones notables a la investigación de diagnóstico y tratamiento. A pesar de publicar predominantemente en revistas mexicanas con factores de impacto más bajos, el INNN ha demostrado una productividad significativa en la investigación de la EP. Las tasas de colaboración con afiliaciones internacionales fueron altas (59.4%), pero las colaboraciones internacionales adicionales fueron limitadas. Este estudio destaca el papel del INNN como institución líder en investigación neurológica en América Latina y destaca las oportunidades para mejorar el impacto de la investigación por medio de la colaboración estratégica y la publicación en revistas de alto impacto.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This paper presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of Parkinson's disease (PD) research conducted at the Instituto Nacional de Neurología y Neurocirugía Manuel Velasco Suárez (INNN) from its inception in 1964 through December 2023. Utilizing the Scopus database, a search was conducted to identify PD-related articles. A total of 275 articles were retrieved, categorized into clinical (176) and experimental (99) research areas. The analysis focused on publication trends, citation counts, collaboration patterns, and journal impact factors. Key findings include an increasing trend in clinical and experimental publications, with notable contributions to diagnosis and treatment research. Despite predominantly publishing in Mexican journals with lower impact factors, the INNN has demonstrated significant productivity in PD research. Collaboration rates with international affiliations were high (59.4%), yet further international collaborations were limited. This study underscores the INNN's role as a leading neurological research institution in Latin America while highlighting opportunities for enhancing research impact through strategic collaboration and publication in high-impact journals.]]></p></abstract>
