La pérdida excesiva de volumen sanguíneo puede llevar a shock y paro cardiorrespiratorio. Está causado principalmente por heridas por arma de fuego y, un manejo oportuno impacta favorablemente en la vida del paciente, puede tratarse por vía endovascular o por técnica convencional abierta. Se describen las características clínicas de una paciente de 43 años con trauma penetrante en tórax, secundario a herida por arma de fuego, con compromiso de vasos subclavios derechos. Llevamos a cabo un abordaje subclavicular derecho extendido a región axilar, logrando adecuada perfusión de extremidad superior ipsilateral después de una derivación subclavio axilar con un injerto de 6 milimetros de politetrafluoretileno. La ecografía de seguimiento confirma ondas bifásicas en arterias humeral, radial y ulnar.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Trauma involving the subclavian vessels is an infrequent injury, and this is associated with a high mortality. Excessive loss of blood volume can lead to shock and cardiorespiratory arrest. This is mainly caused by gunshot wounds, and a prompt management has a favorable impact on survival and can be treated by endovascular or by conventional open repair techniques. We present the clinical characteristics of a 43 year old female patient with penetrating chest trauma, secondary to a gunshot wound with compromise of the right subclavian vessels. A right subclavicular approach extended to the axillary region was carried out, achieving optimal perfusion of the ipsilateral upper extremity following a subclavian-axillary bypass with a 6 millimeters polytetrafluoroethylene graft. Follow-up ultrasound was performed, confirming biphasic waves in the brachial, radial and ulnar arteries.]]></p></abstract>
