En este contexto, la telemedicina se convirtió en una herramienta clave para la atención y el seguimiento de pacientes.  Objetivo: Evaluar el impacto de la COVID-19 en la calidad de vida de pacientes en un programa de telemedicina de una aseguradora en Argentina.  Material y métodos: Estudio descriptivo y transversal con 5,605 pacientes. Se utilizó una encuesta recolectando datos sociodemográficos, estado de salud y calidad de vida relacionada con la salud con el cuestionario EQ-5D-3L. El análisis estadístico se realizó con STATA 14.0.  Resultados: De 65,635 pacientes atendidos, 6,113 respondieron la encuesta. El 81% tuvo formas leves de COVID-19. La calidad de vida se midió con una escala analógica visual autorreportada, obteniendo una puntuación media de 0.733. El envejecimiento y las formas moderadas y graves de la enfermedad se asociaron con una percepción más deteriorada de la salud.  Conclusiones: El estudio destacó el impacto negativo del envejecimiento y la gravedad de la enfermedad en la percepción de salud. Estos hallazgos son cruciales para futuras investigaciones y políticas sanitarias, proporcionando información sobre necesidades específicas en diferentes pacientes y efectos a largo plazo en la calidad de vida.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Background: The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on people's quality of life, both physical and emotional well-being. In this context, telemedicine became a key tool for patient care and monitoring.  Objective: To evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on the quality of life of patients in a telemedicine program of an insurance company in Argentina.  Material and methods: Descriptive and cross-sectional study with 5,605 patients. A survey was used to collect sociodemographic data, health status, and health-related quality of life with the EQ-5D-3L questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed with STATA 14.0.  Results: Of 65,635 patients treated, 6,113 responded to the survey. 81% had mild forms of COVID-19. Quality of life was measured with a self-reported visual analogue scale, obtaining an average score of 0.733. Aging and moderate and severe forms of the disease were associated with a worse perception of health.  Conclusions: The study highlighted the negative impact of aging and disease severity on health perception. These findings are crucial for future research and health policy, providing information on specific needs in different patients and long-term effects on quality of life.]]></p></abstract>
