Las especies de Fusarium pueden llegar a ser identificadas por características morfológicas. Sin embargo, para poder detectar las formas especiales, razas o formas patogénicas se emplean herramientas moleculares o cultivares diferenciales. Actualmente, en el Perú no existe reporte de la identificación de razas de Fol.  Objetivos: Identificar mediante técnicas moleculares y empleo de cultivares diferenciales, razas de Fusarium oxysporum asociados a la marchitez de tomate provenientes de la costa del Perú.  Métodos: Identificación morfológica de ocho aislamientos de Fusarium de tomate, seguido de los análisis filogenéticos basados en las regiones espaciadoras intergénicas del ADN ribosomal (IGS). Además, se realizó la detección de los genes (SIX4, SIX3 y SIX1) y fragmentos de los genes endo (pg1) y exo (pgx4) poligalacturonasa. La prueba de patogenicidad fue realizada en cultivares diferenciales de tomates (Ponderosa, Momotaro, Momotaro 8 y Block).  Resultados y conclusiones: De acuerdo a los análisis moleculares y prueba de patogenicidad, se identificó al aislamiento HEI 11 como Fol raza 1.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Background: Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici (Fol) causes wilt symptoms on tomato. Fusarium species can be identified by morphological characteristics. However, in order to detect special form, races or pathogenic forms, molecular methods and differential cultivars are used. Currently, in Peru there is no report of the identification of races of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici.  Objectives: Identify by molecular techniques and the use of differential cultivars, Fusarium oxysporum races associated with tomato wilt from the coast of Peru.  Methods: Morphological Identification of eight Fusarium isolates from tomato were done followed by phylogenetic analysis based on the intergenic spaces (IGS) of DNA r. In addition, avirulence genes (SIX4, SIX3 and SIX1) and fragments of the endo (pg1) and exo (pgx4) polygalacturonase genes of the pathogen were detected. Pathogenicity tests were carried out on tomato differential cultivars (Ponderosa, Momotaro, Momotaro 8 and Block).  Results and conclusions: According to the molecular techniques and pathogenicity test, the HEI 11 isolate was identified as Fol race 1.]]></p></abstract>
