Métodos: Estudio observacional, de correlación, efectuado en mujeres adultas mayores, sin evidencia de infección, con edad promedio de 69.2 ± 5.9 años. El estado nutricional se evaluó mediante la escala MNA (Mini Nutritional Assessment), y la respuesta inmune celular in vivo a través de pruebas de hipersensibilidad retardada a diversos antígenos microbianos.  Resultados: Se registraron 36 mujeres adultas mayores. El 83.3% tuvo un estado nutricional normal y 16.7% se presentó riesgo de malnutrición, con una puntuación promedio de la escala MNA de 25.6 ± 2.7. La prueba de intradermorreacción a las 48 horas, mostró induración mayor de 5 mm en el 58.3% para bacterias Grampositivas, 38.9% para tétanos-difteria y 66.7% para candidina. La respuesta positiva a candidina fue más frecuente en mujeres en riesgo de malnutrición (OR: 1.3; IC95%: 1.1 &#8211;1.7; p = 0.05). Luego de 96 horas, la induración de candidina mayor de 7 mm mostró un área bajo la curva ROC de 0.75 (IC95%: 0.57 &#8211; 0.94; p = 0.05) para predecir el riesgo de malnutrición.  Conclusión: Las mujeres adultas mayores con buen estado nutricional mantienen una respuesta inmune celular adecuada, mientras que las que permanecen en riesgo de malnutrición tienen mayor reactividad a la candidina, lo que sugiere una posible alteración inmunológica asociada con malnutrición.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Objective: To analyze the relationship between cellular immune response, assessed through delayed hypersensitivity intradermal tests, and nutritional status in older adult women.  Methods: A correlational observational study was conducted on elderly women, without evidence of infection, with an average age of 69.2 ± 5.9 years. Nutritional status was assessed using the Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) scale, and the in vivo cell-mediated immune response was measured through delayed hypersensitivity tests to various microbial antigens.  Results: A total of 36 older adult women were enrolled in the study. Of these, 83.3% had a normal nutritional status, while 16.7% were at risk of malnutrition, with an average MNA score of 25.6 ± 2.7. The intradermal reaction test at 48 hours, showed an induration greater than 5 mm in 58.3% for Gram-positive bacteria, 38.9% for tetanus/diphtheria, 66.7% for candidin, and 0% for Escherichia coli. A positive response to candidin was more frequent in women at risk of malnutrition (OR: 1.3; CI95%: 1.1 &#8211; 1.7; p = 0.05).
