La plaqueta es un componente importante de la sangre y durante una quemadura sufre alteraciones en su comportamiento reológico que, en última instancia, pueden favorecer la aparición y desarrollo de disfunción microcirculatoria. Estas alteraciones pueden ser explicadas por cambios en la morfología plaquetaria, en sus mecanismos de activación, adhesión y agregación al tiempo en que las funciones inmunológicas de las plaquetas parecen tener influencia directa sobre el pronóstico de la enfermedad, las tasas de infección y el tiempo de recuperación. El entendimiento de estos fenómenos puede ser de gran utilidad al generar un impacto directo sobre el curso de la evolución y ayudar al tratamiento del paciente quemado. En esta revisión se analizan las alteraciones plaquetarias con especial atención a la trombocitosis y sus posibles repercusiones durante la reanimación y tratamiento del paciente quemado.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The microcirculatory dysfunction of the tissues after a burn generates ischemia and hypoxia of tissues and organs, weakening the course of tissue repair, as well as the generation of various complications during the resuscitation of the burned patient. The platelet is an important component of the blood and during a burn it undergoes alterations in its rheological behavior that, ultimately, can favor the appearance and development of microcirculatory dysfunction. These alterations can be explained by changes in platelet morphology, in their mechanisms of activation, adhesion, and aggregation, while the immunological functions of platelets seem to have a direct influence on the prognosis of the disease, infection rates, and time of infection. Recovery. The understanding of these phenomena can be very useful by generating a direct impact on the course of evolution and helping treatment. In this review, platelet alterations are analyzed with special attention to thrombocytosis and its possible repercussions during the resuscitation and treatment of the burned patient.]]></p></abstract>

A plaqueta é um importante componente do sangue e durante uma queimadura sofre alterações em seu comportamento reológico que, em última instância, podem favorecer o aparecimento e desenvolvimento de disfunções microcirculatórias. Essas alterações podem ser explicadas por alterações na morfologia das plaquetas, em seus mecanismos de ativação, adesão e agregação, enquanto as funções imunológicas das plaquetas parecem ter influência direta no prognóstico da doença, nas taxas de infecção e no tempo de tratamento. A compreensão desses fenômenos pode ser muito útil gerando impacto direto no curso da evolução e auxiliando no tratamento do paciente queimado.
