En este contexto ocurrió además desabasto de medicamentos, cuyo uso se tenía pensado como tratamiento o mantenimiento. Las sociedades médicas como la Sociedad Española de Intensivistas y Cuidados Críticos en Unidades Coronarias (SEMICYUC), además de sociedades holandesas y alemanas prepararon recomendaciones de sedación en el contexto de la pandemia. Con el fin de lograr una sedación adecuada durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Nuestra intención en este trabajo es describir lo que se observó en materia de respuesta hemodinámica, ventilatoria y neurológica de cada uno de los pacientes sometidos a sedación inhalada.  Objetivo:  mostrar la utilidad que tuvieron los anestésicos inhalados durante el periodo de desabasto de sedantes intravenosos durante la pandemia de COVID-19.  Material y métodos:  en el trabajo actual se trata de un estudio retrospectivo, descriptivo, éste busca mostrar la respuesta de los parámetros ventilatorios y gasométricos (PEEP, PaO2/FiO2, pCO2, SatO2) y sus desenlaces asociados a pacientes con neumonía y por COVID-19 en la unidad de terapia intensiva al recibir el dispositivo AnaConDa (Anesthesic Conserving Device).  Resultados:  se obtuvieron 12 casos en los que se utilizó AnaConDa durante el periodo de febrero de 2021 a febrero de 2022. Cuarenta por ciento (n = 4) de la población estudiada fue dada de alta por mejoría de la UCI, el resto fueron defunciones. Los pacientes que cursaron con obesidad por cálculo de índice de masa corporal (IMC) egresaron por defunción, corresponde al 50% (n = 5) de la población. Con respecto a los parámetros gasométricos el pH previo a AnaConDa presentaba una tendencia a la acidosis de origen respiratorio con un promedio de 7.33 a expensas de pCO2 con media de 55 mmHg y una saturación arterial SatO2 promedio de 92%.  Conclusiones:  el presente trabajo permite confirmar que la sedación inhalada permite una reducción de uso de sedantes intravenosos lo que disminuye el riesgo de síndrome de supresión al retiro de la sedación. También se pudieron alcanzar niveles de sedación profunda durante mayor tiempo sin mayor requerimiento de dosis, por lo que eso puede llegar a tener un impacto en los costos a largo plazo con respecto al uso de sedación inhalada.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  Introduction:  on March 11, 2020, the director general of the World Health Organization declared the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19) a pandemic. In this context, there was also a shortage of medicines which were intended to be used as treatment or maintenance. Medical societies such as the Spanish Society of Intensivists and Critical Care in Coronary Units (SEMICYUC) as well as Dutch and German societies have prepared sedation recommendations in the context of the pandemic. In order to achieve adequate sedation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our intention in this work is to describe what was observed in terms of hemodynamic, ventilatory and neurological response of each of the patients subjected to inhaled sedation.  Objective:  to show the usefulness of inhaled anesthetics during the period of intravenous sedative shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Material and methods:  the current study is a retrospective, descriptive study, which aims to show the response of ventilatory and gasometric parameters (PEEP, PaO2/FiO2, pCO2, SatO2) and their associated outcomes in patients with pneumonia and COVID-19 in the Intensive Care Unit after receiving the AnaConDa device (Anesthetic Conserving Device).  Results:  12 cases were obtained in which AnaConDa was used during the period from February 2021 to February 2022. Forty percent (n = 4) of the study population were discharged from the ICU because of improvement, the rest were deaths. Patients with obesity as measured by body mass index (BMI) were discharged due to death, corresponding to 50% (n = 5) of the population. With respect to the gasometric parameters, pH prior to AnaConDa showed a tendency to acidosis of respiratory origin with an average of 7.33 at the expense of pCO2 with a mean of 55 mmHg and an average arterial saturation SatO2 of 92%.  Conclusions:  the present study confirms that inhaled sedation allows a reduction in the use of intravenous sedatives, which reduces the risk of suppression syndrome on withdrawal of sedation. It was also possible to achieve levels of deep sedation for a longer period of time without a higher dose requirement, which may have an impact on long-term costs compared to the use of inhaled sedation.]]></p></abstract>

Nesse contexto, também havia escassez de medicamentos destinados ao tratamento ou manutenção. Sociedades médicas como a Sociedade Espanhola de Intensivistas e Cuidados Intensivos em Unidades Coronárias (SEMICYUC), bem como as sociedades holandesa e alemã prepararam recomendações de sedação no contexto da pandemia. Para alcançar uma sedação adequada durante a pandemia de COVID-19. Nossa intenção neste trabalho é descrever o que foi observado em termos de resposta hemodinâmica, ventilatória e neurológica de cada um dos pacientes submetidos à sedação inalatória.  Objetivo:  mostrar a utilidade dos anestésicos inalatórios durante o período de escassez de sedativos intravenosos durante a pandemia de COVID-19.  Material e métodos:  o presente trabalho é um estudo retrospectivo, descritivo, que busca mostrar a resposta dos parâmetros ventilatórios e gasométricos (PEEP, PaO2/FiO2, pCO2, SatO2) e seus desfechos associados em pacientes com pneumonia e COVID-19 na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Unidade ao receber o dispositivo AnaConDa (dispositivo de conservação anestésica).  Resultados:  obtiveram-se 12 casos em que o AnaConDa foi utilizado no período de fevereiro de 2021 a fevereiro de 2022. 40% (n = 4) da população estudada recebeu alta da UTI por melhora, o restante foi óbito. Pacientes obesos pelo cálculo do IMC receberam alta por óbito, correspondendo a 50% (n = 5) da população. Com relação aos parâmetros gasométricos, o pH anterior ao AnaConDa apresentou tendência à acidose de origem respiratória com média de 7.33 em detrimento da pCO2 com média de 55 mmHg e SatO2 média da saturação arterial de 92%.  Conclusões:  o presente trabalho confirma que a sedação inalatória permite reduzir o uso de sedativos intravenosos, o que reduz o risco de síndrome de supressão com a retirada da sedação. Níveis de sedação profunda também podem ser alcançados por mais tempo sem necessidade de doses mais altas, portanto, isso pode ter um impacto de custo a longo prazo em relação ao uso de sedação inalatória.]]></p></abstract>
