También se buscó conocer las percepciones de las y los actores involucrados sobre el uso del aplicativo en cada dispositivo. Empleando un diseño mixto concurrente, los datos fueron recolectados en 2021 mediante llamadas telefónicas a docentes y familias de escuelas públicas periurbanas y rurales del Perú cuando persistía la suspensión de clases debido a la pandemia. Los resultados sugieren que existe un uso diferenciado en favor de aquellos que tenían acceso a tabletas con respecto a los que tenían móviles. Esto se muestra para las variables de conocimiento de y participación en el programa, reportados por los padres. Además, algunos factores que dificultaron el involucramiento en el programa se relacionaron con la baja conectividad y el limitado acompañamiento de familiares y docentes.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The objective of this research was to identify if there is a differentiated impact on the access and use of a reading application (Booksmart, by Worldreader) between students who used tablets compared to those who used mobile phones to access the resource. It also sought to understand the perceptions of the actors involved regarding the use of the application on each device. Using a concurrent mixed design, data was collected in 2021 through telephone calls to teachers and families from peri-urban and rural public schools in Peru when class suspension persisted due to the pandemic. The results suggest that there is differentiated use in favor of those who had access to tablets compared to those who had mobile phones. This is shown for the variables of knowledge of and participation in the program, as reported by parents. Additionally, some factors that hindered involvement in the program were related to poor connectivity and limited support from family members and teachers.]]></p></abstract>
