Para ello, se elaboró una entrevista semiestructurada que se aplicó de manera individual a cuatro estudiantes de tercero de primaria (8-9 años de edad). La entrevista llevó asociada una tarea de pensamiento funcional cuya función involucrada fue f(x) = x+1, en un contexto cercano a los estudiantes. Se realizó un análisis de contenido de las producciones de cada uno de los estudiantes a las siete preguntas que involucró la tarea. Entre los resultados se destaca que los estudiantes fueron capaces de utilizar estrategias centradas en las relaciones funcionales de correspondencia y covariación. Además, fueron capaces de responder a una pregunta general desde la particularización y la generalización de una relación funcional. Los resultados sugieren que los estudiantes de estas edades educativas son capaces de involucrarse adecuada-mente con tareas que llevan asociadas el concepto de función.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This study aims to characterize the strategies employed by third-grade elementary school students in a task involving functional thinking. To achieve this, a semi-structured interview was designed and individually administered to four third-grade students (ages 8-9). The interview was linked to a functional thinking task involving the function f(x) = x+1, presented in a familiar context for the students. A content analysis was conducted on each student&#8217;s responses to the seven questions included in the task. The findings indicate that students were able to employ strategies focused on functional relationships of correspondence and covariation. Additionally, they successfully responded to a general question by particularizing and generalizing a functional relationship. These results suggest that students at this educational stage can effectively engage with tasks involving the concept of function.]]></p></abstract>
