Participaram no estudo 49 estudantes que se encontravam a frequentar o 2.º ou 3.º ano de um curso de engenharia de uma instituição de ensino superior do norte de Portugal. Os estudantes responderam a um breve questionário incluindo várias questões sobre jogos probabilísticos, sendo estudadas aqui as resoluções dos estudantes a duas dessas questões, que se referem a situações de jogos não equitativos. Em termos de resultados, salienta-se um desempenho satisfatório dos estudantes nas duas questões e o recurso a estratégias diversificadas para obter as respostas aos vários itens dessas questões. Considerando estes resultados do estudo, importa potencializar a diversidade de estratégias observada para a aprendizagem dos estudantes e conduzir novos estudos que consolidem os resultados obtidos e que investiguem jogos equitativos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: In this article, higher education students explore situations involving the performance of probabilistic games with the following objectives: 1) study student performance in probabilistic games and 2) identify the strategies students use to obtain their answers. The study included 49 students attending an engineering course&#8217;s 2nd or 3rd year at a higher education institution in northern Portugal. The students answered a brief survey that included several questions about probabilistic games, and students&#8217; resolutions to two of these questions, which refer to situations of unfair games, are studied here. In terms of results, students&#8217; satisfactory performance in both questions and the use of diverse strategies to obtain answers to the various items in these questions are highlighted. Considering these study results, it is important to enhance the diversity of strategies observed for student learning, conduct new studies that consolidate the results obtained, and investigate fair games.]]></p></abstract>
