<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2448-56912008000100061&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2448-56912008000100061&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2448-56912008000100061&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Este artículo no identifica &#8220;lo nuevo&#8221; de los productos nano en sí, sino el hecho de que la nanotecnología emerge como una fuerza fuerte y expansiva de desarrollo científico y tecnológico en un momento histórico en el que hay un consenso emergente de que la reflexión ética tiene que incluirse en la fase inicial; un consenso que por lo menos parece estar en el ámbito político europeo. Los retos institucionales parecen coincidir con los principales retos intelectuales, surgiendo del mismo contexto histórico. En vez de analizar los &#8220;problemas éticos&#8221; concretos y a menudo muy limitados que se han identificado alrededor de la nanotecnología actual, proponemos una investigación y reflexión sobre las relaciones entre ciencia, tecnología y sociedad tal y como se han estudiado e investigado en los últimos años dentro de la filosofía y sociología de la ciencia y la tecnología, así como en los estudios &#8220;CTS&#8221; (Ciencia, Tecnología y Sociedad). Lo que hace falta, es entender y aplicar este conocimiento en el contexto de los retos institucionales que quedan por resolver.
