La primera nos evoca los avances en Ingeniería Genética y Genoma Humano; mientras que la segunda los novísimos materiales y dispositivos electrónicos con características asociadas a una escala &#8220;muy pequeña&#8221;. La conexión, entre ellas, desde un enfoque moderno en la fabricación de materiales a escala nanométrica, es la construcción de dispositivos electrónicos utilizando el ADN como intermediario. La industria electrónica está muy interesada en explorar nuevos métodos de nanofabricación para así continuar su evolución a dispositivos electrónicos de dimensiones nanométricas. El presente muestra cómo el ADN puede ser utilizado como andamio para fabricar nanomateriales. Se menciona brevemente la relación entre Ciencia de Materiales y Biología Molecular, y las propiedades del ADN. Se reseñan los métodos para obtener y manipular ADN, y se enfatiza en el uso del ADN del bactriófago &#955; y oligonucleótidos como nanomateriales, y la síntesis de nanolambres y arreglos periódicos utilizando ADN. Se concluye con el prometedor futuro que tiene el ADN como mediador en la fabricación circuitos integrados en nanoelectrónica.]]></p></abstract>
