</abstract>

It is argued that the Treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada (USMCA) postulates a maximum protection claim that includes climate change. To this end, the doctrine of binding multilateralism is mobilized. First, the nature of the executive decisions of the presidents of the United States is studied. It then identifies the international obligations adopted by the United States with the entry into force of the T-MEC. It concludes that the T-MEC is a complementary instrument in the US policy to combat climate change.
</abstract>
