Metodología:  Estudio cuantitativo, transversal y no experimental. A través de un muestreo probabilístico proporcional se seleccionaron 407 adultos entre 30 y 60 años residentes de Hermosillo, Sonora. Para la recolección de datos se utilizó la escala de Contreras-Galleguillos et al. (2018). Quienes participaron fueron captados en 28 supermercados ubicados en diferentes sectores de la ciudad.  Resultados:  El 70% de los participantes fueron personas del sexo femenino. El análisis sociodemográfico mostró diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre el nivel bajo y alto de escolaridad para la variable intención de compra (p&gt;0.005). Se observó que, a mayor intención, mayor probabilidad de comportamiento de compra (p&gt;0.001).  Limitaciones:  El diseño transversal limitó establecer el impacto en la intención y comportamiento de compra antes y después de la implementación de los SA.  Conclusiones:  Las decisiones de compra pueden estar influenciadas por el nivel de escolaridad, sin embargo, también es importante considerar los factores externos que influyen, como la variedad de productos ofertados y los precios, los cuales varían según la zona geográfica, las costumbres locales y el acceso o disponibilidad de los productos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Objective:  To analyze the intention and purchasing behavior of packaged food with a low number of Warning Labels and their relationship with sociodemographic factors.  Methodology:  Quantitative, cross-sectional, and non-experimental study. Through proportional probabilistic sampling, 407 adults aged between 30 and 60, living in Hermosillo, Sonora, were selected. The Contreras-Galleguillos et al. (2018) scale was used for data collection. Participants were recruited in 28 supermarkets located in different sectors of the city.  Results:  70% of the participants were female. The sociodemographic analysis showed statistically significant differences between low and high levels of education for the purchase intention variable (p&gt;0.005). It was observed that higher intention correlates with a higher probability of purchasing behavior (p&gt;0.001).  Limitations:  The cross-sectional design limited the ability to establish the impact on purchase intention and behavior before and after the implementation of Warning Labels.  Conclusions:  Purchasing decisions may be influenced by the level of education, however, it is also important to define external factors that influence, such as the variety of products offered and prices, which vary according to the geographical area, local traditions, and access or availability of products.]]></p></abstract>
