<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2395-91692022000200118&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2395-91692022000200118&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2395-91692022000200118&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  Objetivo:  Analizar la percepción de productores de sorgo sobre la incidencia y daños del pulgón amarillo y sus enemigos naturales, así como los métodos de control para fortalecer estrategias de manejo integrado y reducir daños causados por el áfido en tres localidades de la región poblana productora de este grano.  Metodología:  Mediante un muestreo por conveniencia y una guía de entrevista se recopiló información de 44 productores asistentes a reuniones realizadas por el Comité Estatal de Sanidad Vegetal.  Resultados:  El cultivo de sorgo fue de temporal. Los grandes problemas que los productores identificaron en sorgo fueron cuatro, 66% señaló al pulgón amarillo como el principal. Los productores percibieron infestación en todas sus parcelas en diferentes etapas del cultivo. Se utilizó principalmente insecticidas químicos para el control del áfido, seguido de la combinación con enemigos naturales. El 77% observó enemigos naturales del áfido en su parcela, de los cuales catarinas y sírfidos tuvieron mayor presencia. El 70% indicó que los enemigos naturales están amenazados por las altas dosis de insecticidas aplicados.  Limitaciones:  Si bien el estudio se realizó en tres localidades, este permitió comprender los elementos principales del fenómeno estudiado.  Conclusiones:  Los productores percibieron e identificaron el pulgón amarillo del sorgo como el principal problema del cultivo y afectó toda la superficie. Precisaron la presencia de al menos un enemigo natural en su parcela. Sin embargo, la alta aplicación de insecticidas tiene efectos adversos en los mismos, hallazgos que reflejan un potencial biológico importante para usarse en el manejo del áfido.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Objective:  To analyze the perception of sorghum producers about the incidence and damage of the yellow aphid and its natural enemies, as well as the control methods to strengthen integrated management strategies and reduce damage caused by the aphid in three localities of the Pueblan region that produce this grain.  Methodology:  Through convenience sampling and an interview guide, information was collected from 44 producers attending meetings held by the State Plant Health Committee.  Results:  The sorghum crop was rainfed. The major problems that the producers identified in sorghum were four, 66% pointed to the yellow aphid as the main one. The producers perceived infestation in all their plots at different stages of cultivation. Chemical insecticides were mainly used to control the aphid, followed by the combination with natural enemies. 77% observed natural enemies of the aphid in their plot, of which lady beetles and hoverflies had a greater presence. 70% indicated that natural enemies are threatened by the high doses of insecticides applied.  Limitations:  Although the study was carried out in three locations, it allowed us to understand the main elements of the phenomenon studied.  Conclusions:  The producers perceived and identified the yellow sorghum aphid as the main problem of the crop, and it affected the entire surface. They specified the presence of at least one natural enemy in their plot. However, the high application of insecticides has adverse effects on them, findings that reflect an important biological potential to be used in aphid management.]]></p></abstract>
