Metodología:  Se desarrolló una investigación bajo el enfoque empírico analítico, con un diseño cuasiexperimental y un alcance transversal. Se contó con la participación de 159 adolescentes (88 hombres, 70 mujeres, 1 otro), con una edad media de 16 años, estudiantes de dos instituciones educativas de carácter privado.  Resultados:  Se encontró que los adolescentes perciben como saludable los alimentos independientes de la marca, pero la marca que se concibe como saludable determina su elección frente a un alimento que incluso no pueda contar con beneficios nutricionales.  Limitaciones:  Se identificó como limitaciones del estudio, el estrato socioeconómico de la muestra, dado que todos los participantes pertenecían a un nivel socioeconómico alto (5 y 6), lo que permite inferir que su experiencia con ciertos tipos de alimentos puede estar influenciada por el acceso a los mismos, lo que determina los hábitos y el comportamiento de consumo.  Conclusiones:  El concepto de lo &#8220;saludable&#8221;, el cual fue el objeto de estudio de esta investigación, se encuentra fuertemente permeado por las actividades de mercadeo de la industria de alimentos y poco respaldado por la calidad nutricional real de los alimentos, así mismo este concepto se construye en la medida que los consumidores dependiendo del nivel socioeconómico tiene la posibilidad de acceder o tener experiencias con ciertos productos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Objective:  To know the perception of the concept of "healthy" and its relationship with food brands in a group of adolescents from the city of Medellin, Colombia.  Methodology:  For this, an investigation was developed under the analytical empirical approach, with a quasi-experimental design and a transversal scope. The 159 adolescents participated (88 men, 70 women, 1 other), with an average age of 16 years, students from two private educational institutions.  Results:  It was found that adolescents perceive foods independent of the brand as healthy, but the brand that is conceived as healthy determines their choice over a food that may not even have nutritional benefits.  Limitations:  The study's limitations were identified as the socioeconomic stratum of the sample, since all the participants belonged to a high socioeconomic level (5 and 6), which allows us to infer that their experience with certain foods may be influenced by access to food. Themselves, which determines consumer habits and behavior.  Conclusions:  The concept of "healthy", which was the object of study of this research, is strongly permeated by the marketing activities of the food industry. The concept is little supported by the real nutritional quality of food, likewise this. The concept is built to the extent that consumers, depending on the socioeconomic level, have the possibility of accessing or having experiences with certain products.]]></p></abstract>
