El objetivo del trabajo fue evaluar la aplicación de complejos de nanoquitosán-yodo (NPsCs-I) en el crecimiento y desarrollo de plantas de tomate. La aplicación de los tratamientos fue de forma foliar cada 15 días. Se evaluaron variables de crecimiento, vigor y rendimiento en las plantas. Los resultados muestran que solamente para el diámetro de tallo se presentaron diferencias significativas con respecto al testigo absoluto (T0); aumentando al aplicar NPsCs-KIO3 25 mg L-1 un 29% a los 20 ddt, NPsCs-KIO3 5 mg L-1 en 19% a los 60 ddt y con NPsCs en 27% a los 120 ddt con respecto al T0. El aumento del diámetro de tallo está asociado a un mayor vigor en las plantas, lo que se traduce a un efecto bioestimulante en las plantas de tomate.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The use of biostimulants is an alternative in plant production that allows increasing growth and vigor. The objective of this work was to evaluate the application of nanochitosan-iodine complexes (NPsCs-I) in the growth and development of tomato plants. The application of the treatments was foliar every 15 days. Plant growth, vigor and yield variables were evaluated. In the results, only in the stem diameter variable, there were significant differences with respect to the absolute control (T0). The treatment of NPsCs-KIO3 25 mg L-1 increased 29% at 20 dat, NPsCs-KIO3 5 mg L-1 increased 19% at 60 dat and NPsCs increased 27% at 120 dat compared to T0. The increase in stem diameter is associated with greater plant vigor, which translates into a biostimulant effect on tomato plants.]]></p></abstract>
