El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar la morfología, productividad y calidad del grano en higuerilla (Ricinus communis) cultivada en el Centro-Norte de México. En primavera-verano de 2020, se sembraron cuatro variedades y un híbrido de higuerilla en Durango, Durango, y Pabellón, Aguascalientes, México. En la siembra se consideró una densidad de 15000 plantas ha-1. Se evaluó número de días a floración (DF), altura de planta (AP), longitud de la espiga (LE), rendimiento (kg ha-1), peso de 100 semillas (P100S), % de brotación (PB), % de germinación (PG) y el contenido de cenizas (CC), proteína (CP) y grasa (CG). El procesamiento estadístico incluyo estadística descriptiva (DF, PB y PG) y un análisis de varianza en un diseño en bloques completamente al azar con seis repeticiones y la comparación de medias se obtuvo con la prueba de Tukey (&#945; &#8804; 0.05). Se observaron diferencias altamente significativas (&#945; &#8804; 0.01) para altura de planta entre localidades (195.0 cm-282.7 cm) y entre materiales para AP, LE y P100S. En ambas localidades SAB 14 (2,906 kg ha-1 y 2,408 kg ha-1) y K 855 (2,669 kg ha-1 y 2,400 kg ha-1) mostraron el rendimiento más alto. En CG Guanajuato Oil (57.1%) y SAB 14 (55.4%) superaron estadísticamente al resto de los materiales. Se corroboró la adaptación de SAB 14, la cual mostró rendimiento alto de grano y sus semillas, resultaron de calidad aceptable, con base en el contenido de grasa.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Raw materials are required to make biofuels and move towards sustainable sources of energy. The objective of the study was to evaluate the morphology, productivity and quality of the castor bean (Ricinus communis) grain cultivated in the Center-North of Mexico. In spring-summer 2020, four castor varieties and one hybrid were planted in Durango, Dgo., and Pabellón, Ags., México. In sowing, a density of 15,000 plants ha-1 was considered. Number of days to flowering (DF), plant height (AP), spike length (LE), yield (kg ha-1), weight of 100 seeds (P100S), % sprouting (PB), % germination (PG) and the ash (CC), protein (CP) and fat (CG) content. The statistical processing included descriptive statistics (DF, PB and PG) and an analysis of variance in a completely randomized block design with six repetitions and the comparison of means was obtained with the Tukey test (&#945; &#8804; 0.05). Highly significant differences (&#945; &#8804; 0.01) were observed for plant height between locations (195.0 cm-282.7 cm) and between materials for AP, LE and P100S. In both locations SAB 14 (2,906 kg ha-1 and 2,408 kg ha-1) and K 855 (2,669 kg ha-1 and 2,400 kg ha-1) showed the highest yield.
