Estas empresas representan una parte significativa en la economía local, aunque enfrentan barreras para implementar prácticas sostenibles debido a recursos limitados. El estudio buscó identificar cómo el compromiso de los colaboradores puede facilitar la adopción de estrategias sostenibles en estas organizaciones. Se utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo con diseño descriptivo y correlacional. Se aplicó un cuestionario estructurado con escala Likert para medir percepciones sobre sostenibilidad y compromiso organizacional en una muestra de 61 empresas. Las MIPYMES seleccionadas provenían de los sectores comercio, manufactura y servicios, reflejando la diversidad económica de la región. Previamente, se realizó un análisis piloto para validar el instrumento. Los resultados muestran que el 77% de los colaboradores están satisfechos con su empleo, el 62.3% se identifica plenamente con la misión y valores de su empresa, mientras que el 78.7% reporta alta lealtad hacia la organización. Estas cifras indican un entorno favorable para impulsar prácticas sostenibles. No obstante, también se identificaron áreas de mejora: el 31.1% manifiesta una identificación moderada, y el 19.7% presenta una comprensión limitada de los objetivos organizacionales. Además, aunque el 59% de las empresas fomenta la educación para la sostenibilidad, un porcentaje significativo percibe estos esfuerzos como insuficientes. La investigación concluye que el compromiso organizacional es un factor determinante para la sostenibilidad empresarial. No obstante, se requiere fortalecer la comunicación interna, las oportunidades de desarrollo y la educación en sostenibilidad para consolidar una cultura organizacional alineada con prácticas responsables que beneficien tanto a las empresas como a su entorno.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The research aimed to analyze the relationship between organizational commitment and business sustainability in micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the State of Mexico. These companies represent a significant part of the local economy, although they face barriers to implementing sustainable practices due to limited resources. The study sought to identify how employee commitment can facilitate the adoption of sustainable strategies in these organizations. A quantitative approach with a descriptive and correlational design was used. A structured questionnaire with a Likert scale was applied to measure perceptions of sustainability and organizational commitment in a sample of 61 companies. The selected MSMEs came from the trade, manufacturing, and services sectors, reflecting the economic diversity of the region. A pilot analysis was previously conducted to validate the instrument. The results show that 77% of employees are satisfied with their job, 62.3% fully identify with the mission and values of their company, while 78.7% report high loyalty to the organization. These figures indicate a favorable environment for promoting sustainable practices. However, areas for improvement were also identified: 31.1% report moderate identification, and 19.7% have a limited understanding of organizational objectives. In addition, although 59% of the companies promote education for sustainability, a significant percentage perceives these efforts as insufficient. The research concludes that organizational commitment is a determining factor for business sustainability. However, it is necessary to strengthen internal communication, development opportunities, and sustainability education to consolidate an organizational culture aligned with responsible practices that benefit both the companies and their environment.]]></p></abstract>

O estudo buscou identificar como o comprometimento dos funcionários pode facilitar a adoção de estratégias sustentáveis &#8203;&#8203;nessas organizações. Utilizou-se uma abordagem quantitativa com delineamento descritivo e correlacional. Um questionário estruturado em escala Likert foi aplicado para mensurar as percepções de sustentabilidade e comprometimento organizacional em uma amostra de 61 empresas. As MPMEs selecionadas eram dos setores de comércio, manufatura e serviços, refletindo a diversidade econômica da região. Uma análise piloto foi previamente conduzida para validar o instrumento. Os resultados mostram que 77% dos funcionários estão satisfeitos com seus empregos, 62,3% se identificam plenamente com a missão e os valores de suas empresas, enquanto 78,7% relatam alta lealdade à organização. Esses números indicam um ambiente favorável à promoção de práticas sustentáveis. No entanto, também foram identificadas áreas de melhoria: 31,1% expressaram identificação moderada e 19,7% tinham compreensão limitada dos objetivos organizacionais. Além disso, embora 59% das empresas promovam a educação para a sustentabilidade, uma porcentagem significativa considera esses esforços insuficientes. A pesquisa conclui que o comprometimento organizacional é um fator determinante para a sustentabilidade corporativa.
