<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2007-50572023000400064&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2007-50572023000400064&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2007-50572023000400064&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  Introducción En la carrera de médico cirujano de la facultad de medicina de la Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (MED-UASLP), se imparte un curso de lectura crítica (CLC) mediante la herramienta OPMER, ésta es el acrónimo de Objetivo, Población, Metodología, Estadística, Resultados. El curso es presencial y por la pandemia de COVID-19, se impartió de manera virtual.  Objetivo Determinar si el CLC impartido de manera virtual a alumnos del segundo semestre de MED-UASLP les permite evaluar la metodología de un artículo científico con resultados semejantes a los obtenidos por los profesores del curso.  Método Se implementó el CLC a través de las plataformas de Moodle y Teams a 60 alumnos de segundo semestre de MED-UASLP, sin conocimiento previo de lectura crítica durante la materia de Informática Médica (mayo 2022). El curso constó de 10 horas divididas en 5 horas de clase virtual sincrónica Teams (Microsoft) y 5 horas de actividades relacionadas en Moodle. Al final los alumnos revisaron la metodología de un artículo científico (en tiempo real) utilizando la herramienta OPMER otorgando una calificación contrastada con la de los profesores del curso.  Resultados Se obtuvo un promedio de 15.06 puntos con mínima de 10 y máxima de 18. El 30% (18) de los alumnos concordaron con la puntuación del grupo de profesores en 16 puntos, el 32% (19) de los alumnos puntuaron ± 1 de la puntuación del grupo de profesores y 18% (11) de los alumnos puntuaron ± 2 de la puntuación del grupo de profesores, el 20% de los alumnos (12) se encontraron fuera de este rango.  Conclusiones Mediante un CLC virtual se evidenció un resultado similar al del grupo de profesores al evaluar la metodología de un artículo, demostrando una probable utilidad para la enseñanza de habilidades de lectura crítica en esa modalidad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Introduction In the career of medical surgeon of the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi (MED-UASLP), a critical reading course (CLC) is taught using the OPMER tool, which is the acronym for Objective, Population, Methodology, Statistics, Results. The course is face-to-face and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was given virtually.  Objective To determine if the CLC given virtually to second semester MED-UASLP students allows them to correctly evaluate the methodology of a scientific article.  Method The CLC was given through Moodle and Teams platforms to 60 second semester students of MED-UASLP, without previous knowledge of critical reading, during the subject of Medical Informatics (May 2022). The course lasted 10 hours, divided into 5 hours of synchronous virtual class in Teams (Microsoft) and 5 hours of related activities in Moodle. At the end of the course, students reviewed the methodology of a scientific article (in real time) using the OPMER tool and gave a grade that was contrasted with that of the course teachers.  Results An average of 15.06 points was obtained with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 18. 30% (18) of the students agreed with the teachers' group score of 16 points, 32% (19) of the students scored ± 1 of the teachers' group score and 18% (11) of the students scored ± 2 of the teachers' group score, 20% of the students (12) were outside this range.  Conclusions Using a virtual CLC, a result similar to the teachers' group was demonstrated when evaluating the methodology of an article, indicating a probable usefulness for teaching critical reading skills in this modality.]]></p></abstract>
