<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2007-50572022000100010&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2007-50572022000100010&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2007-50572022000100010&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  Introducción:  Las repercusiones de la pandemia por COVID-19 han impactado a la sociedad en general y, en particular, a la educación médica; por lo que las escuelas de medicina han puesto en práctica la creatividad, tanto de directivos y docentes, para hacer frente a esta situación con las mejores estrategias que incidan positivamente en la formación de los futuros médicos.  Objetivo:  Comparar la percepción que tienen los alumnos, según su semestre, acerca de la utilidad de las clases online en medicina de pregrado de una escuela particular del sur del Estado de Tamaulipas en México.  Método:  Encuesta online a través de Google Forms a 261 alumnos del 1º al 8° semestre, de una escuela de medicina particular del sur de Tamaulipas, seleccionados a través de un muestreo estratificado. Como variable principal del estudio, se consideró la percepción de la utilidad de las clases online.  Resultados:  El 53% de los alumnos no está de acuerdo en que la modalidad online sea útil para el desarrollo de los saberes procedimentales, y el 80% considera que las clases presenciales son mejores que las clases online.  Conclusiones:  La modalidad online no es útil para el desarrollo del componente procedimental de la competencia clínica, y es útil solamente en algunas asignaturas de la carrera de medicina. La educación en forma presencial es mejor que la modalidad online para el aprendizaje de la medicina.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Introduction:  The repercussions of the COVID 19 pandemic have impacted society in general and medical education in particular, so medical schools have put into practice the creativity of both managers and teachers to deal with this situation with the best strategies that positively affect the training of future doctors.  Objective:  To compare the perception that students have, according to semester, about the usefulness of online classes in undergraduate medicine at a private school in the south of the State of Tamaulipas in Mexico.  Method:  Online survey through Google Forms to 261 students from semesters 1 to 8, from a private medical school in southern Tamaulipas, selected through a stratified sampling. As the main variable of the study, the perception of the usefulness of online classes was considered.  Results:  53% of the students do not agree that the online modality is useful for the development of procedural knowledge and 80% consider that face-to-face classes are better than online classes.  Conclusions:  The online modality is not useful for the development of the procedural component of clinical competence, and it is useful only in some subjects of the medical career. Face-to-face education is better than the online modality for learning medicine.]]></p></abstract>
