Its structural organs, mainly leaves, root, stem bark, seeds, and pulp contain phytochemical compounds, such as tannins, alkaloids, phenols, glycosides, terpenes, flavonoids, and steroids, these compounds have pharmacological, antihelmintic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antihyperglycemic, antioxidant and cytotoxic properties for several types of cancer. The pulp contains sugars, vitamins, and minerals, having the potential for the development of new food products with bioactive compounds.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN La anona (Annona reticulata L.) se reproduce en condiciones de campo abierto o bien en huertos de traspatio. Sus órganos estructurales, principalmente hojas, raíz, corteza del tallo, semillas y pulpa contienen compuestos fitoquímicos, tales como taninos, alcaloides, fenoles, glucósidos, terpenos, flavonoides y esteroides, estos compuestos tienen propiedades farmacológicas, antihelmínticas, analgésicas, antiinflamatorias, antihiperglucémicas, antioxidantes y citotóxicas para varios tipos de cáncer. La pulpa contiene azúcares, vitaminas y minerales, teniendo potencial para el desarrollo de nuevos productos alimenticios con compuestos bioactivos.]]></p></abstract>
