<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2007-33802020000100141&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2007-33802020000100141&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2007-33802020000100141&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The aim of this investigation was to assess the effect level of inclusion of avocado meal (AM) at 0, 5 and 10% in pigs diet for 56 days before their slaughter, on effects in regard to proximal chemical composition, presence of antioxidants, lipid modulation in the Longissimus dorsi and gene expression in the Longissimus dorsi muscle and liver tissues. Eight male pigs of 55 ± 3 kg of initial weight were used in each diet group to compare them under a completely random design, with variance analysis and Tukey test. The gene expression in each tissue was analyzed with a mixedeffects model, comparing the values of change or fold change (FC) of diets with AM against diet control. Levels of &#947;-tocopherol, total phenolic compounds, antioxidant activity ABTS and DPPH are increased linearly with the inclusion of AM in the diet, decreasing intramuscular fat. In AM5 against AM0, the high expression of lipogenic genes (ACACA, ACP and FASN) in the Longissimus dorsi muscle was associated with the increase of arachidonic fatty acids (20:4-n6) and eicosapentaenoic (20:3-n3). Fatty acid esterification (SCD) was associated with decreased stearic acid (18:0) and increased higher 18:1/18:0 ratio. With AM10 against AM0, the expression of ACACA, SCD, ACP, and FASN were low in both tissues, decreasingin the muscle Longissimus dorsi palmitic acid (16:0); increased: arachidonic (20:0) and linoleic (18:2 n6) acids, PUFA, PUFA/SFA and PUFA/MUFA.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: El objetivo de esta investigación fue valorar el nivel de inclusión de harina de aguacate (AM) al 0, 5 y 10 % en la alimentación de cerdos por 56 días antes del sacrificio, sobre efectos en composición química proximal, presencia de antioxidantes, modulación de los lípidos en el músculo Longissimus dorsi y expresión de genes en los tejidos Longissimus dorsi e hígado. Se emplearon en cada dieta ocho cerdos machos de 55 ± 3 kg de peso inicial, para compararlas bajo un diseño completamente al azar, con análisis de varianza y prueba de Tukey. La expresión de genes en cada tejido fue analizada con un modelo de efectos mixtos, comparando los valores de cambio o fold change (FC) de las dietas con AM contra la dieta control. Los niveles de &#947;-tocoferol, compuestos fenólicos totales, actividad antioxidante ABTS y DPPH se incrementan linealmente con inclusión de AM en la dieta, disminuyendo grasa intramuscular. En AM5 contra H0, la alta expresión de genes lipogénicos (ACACA, ACP y FASN) en el músculo Longissimus dorsi, se asoció al aumento de los ácidos grasos araquidónico (20:4-n6) y eicosapentaenoico (20:3-n3). La esterificación de ácidos grasos (SCD) se asoció a la disminución del ácido esteárico (18:0) y aumento de mayor relación 18:1/18:0. Con AM10 contra AM0, la expresión de ACACA, SCD, ACP y FASN fue baja en ambos tejidos, disminuyendo en el músculo Longissimus dorsi el ácido palmítico (16:0); aumentando: los ácidos araquídico (20:0) y linoleico (18:2 n6), PUFA, PUFA/SFA y PUFA/MUFA.]]></p></abstract>
