Se identifican diferencias de género, se cuantifican y comparan sus tamaños del efecto entre 2015-2022 según las dimensiones: nivel socioeconómico, condición de ruralidad, y área de especialización en pedagogía. Los resultados muestran que la brecha en el factor basado en las notas de secundaria favorece a mujeres, mientras la brecha en la prueba estandarizada a hombres, existiendo categorías donde estas diferencias se acentúan. Comprender este efecto de los mecanismos de acceso en las desigualdades de género permite informar las políticas orientadas a la atracción y formación docente.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Este estudo examina a disparidade de gênero no acesso a programas de formação de docentes no Chile, de acordo com os critérios de acesso definidos na nova política de desenvolvimento profissional de professores. As diferenças de gênero são identificadas, quantificadas e seus tamanhos de efeito entre 2015-2022 são comparados de acordo com as dimensões: nível socioeconômico, ruralidade e área de especialização em pedagogia. Os resultados mostram que a disparidade no fator baseado nas notas do ensino médio favorece as mulheres, enquanto a disparidade na prova estandardizada favorece os homens, existindo categorias onde essas diferenças são acentuadas. Compreender esse efeito dos mecanismos de acesso sobre as desigualdades de gênero nos permite informar políticas voltadas para a atração e formação de professores.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This study examines the gender gap in access to teacher education programs in Chile, according to the admission criteria defined in the new teacher professional development policy. Gender differences are identified, quantified, and compared between 2015 and 2022 according to the following dimensions: socioeconomic status, rurality, and area of specialization in pedagogy. The results show that the gap in the factor based on high school grades favors women, while the gap in the standardized test favors men, and these differences are more pronounced. Understanding this effect of access mechanisms on gender inequalities allows us to inform policies aimed at attracting and training teachers.]]></p></abstract>
