A partir de información recogida desde un grupo de universidades tradicionales (integrantes del Consejo de Rectores de las Universidades Chilenas), este estudio examina y analiza los distintos programas existentes. Junto con documentar la evolución de los programas existentes y su relación con la política pública, el estudio observa que la trayectoria que han seguido estos programas no se conforma con las categorías y paradigmas de cambio documentados en la literatura académica. Más bien, tal trayectoria sugiere un proceso de modernización de las universidades chilenas sui generis cuyo resultado todavía resulta difícil de observar con plenitud pero que, sin embargo, están reconfigurando sus dinámicas internas y dando lugar a experiencias de gestión académica novedosas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Durante as últimas décadas, as universidades chilenas desenvolveram programas de apoio estudantil de graduação em relação à crescente diversificação de seus alunos em um contexto de superlotação. Com base em informações coletadas de um grupo de universidades tradicionais (membros do Conselho de Reitores de Universidades Chilenas), este estudo examina e analisa os diferentes programas existentes. Além de documentar a evolução dos programas existentes e sua relação com as políticas públicas, o estudo observa que a trajetória seguida por esses programas não está em conformidade com as categorias e paradigmas de mudança documentados na literatura acadêmica. Pelo contrário, tal trajetória sugere um processo de modernização das universidades chilenas sui generis, cujo resultado ainda é difícil de observar plenamente, mas que, no entanto, estão reconfigurando suas dinâmicas internas e dando origem a novas experiências de gestão acadêmica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract During the last decades, Chilean universities have developed student aid programs at the undergraduate level in response to the increasing diversification of their students in a context of massification. Based on information gathered from a group of traditional universities (members of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities), this study analyzes the different available programs. This study not only documents the evolution of the existing programs and their relationship with public policy, but also observes that the path followed by these programs does not correspond to the categories and paradigms of change documented in the academic literature. In fact, this evolution suggests a sui generis process of modernization of Chilean universities whose outcome is still difficult to fully observe but that, nevertheless, are reconfiguring their internal dynamics and giving rise to innovative academic management experiences.]]></p></abstract>
