Analizamos estos determinantes y sus efectos en Colombia con datos de SPADIES, ICFES e ICETEX, mediante un modelo Probit ordenado con corrección por endogeneidad. Encontramos un efecto de exclusión en el acceso a estudios universitarios, pues los ingresos familiares, el nivel educativo de la madre y el acceso al crédito educativo resultan determinantes; por el contrario, los efectos son casi inapreciables en estudios técnicos y muy limitados en tecnológicos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Conhecer os efeitos das restrições socioeconômicas e as políticas de fomento de acesso e escolha de programas de ensino superior é essencial para alcançar o desenvolvimento sustentável e corrigir as desigualdades sociais. Analisamos esses determinantes e seus efeitos na Colômbia com dados de SPADIES, ICFES e ICETEX, utilizando um modelo de probit ordenado com correção para endogeneidade. Encontramos um efeito excludente no acesso aos estudos universitários, uma vez que a renda familiar, o nível educacional da mãe e o acesso ao crédito educacional são determinantes; pelo contrário, os efeitos são quase insignificantes em estudos técnicos e muito limitados em estudos tecnológicos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Based on the assertion that knowing the effects of socioeconomic determinants and support policies on access and choice of higher education programs is fundamental to achieve sustainable development and correct social inequalities, the authors analyze these determinants and their effects in Colombia with data from SPADIES (System for the Prevention of Dropout in Higher Education, in Spanish Sistema para la prevención de la Deserción de la Educación Superior), ICFES (Colombian Institute for the Promotion of Higher Education, in Spanish Instituto Colombiano para el Fomento de la Educación Superior) and ICETEX (Colombian Institute for Educational Credit and Technical Studies Abroad, in Spanish Instituto Colombiano de Crédito Educativo y Estudios Técnicos en el Exterior), using an ordered probit model with endogenous regressors. They observe an exclusion effect in access to university studies, since family income, the mother&#8217;s educational level and access to educational credit are determinants; in contrast, the effects are almost insignificant in technical studies and very marginal in technological studies.]]></p></abstract>
