La base de datos utilizada es la Encuesta de Hogares del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censo (2001, 2004 y 2009). Se aplica la ecuación de Mincer y se tienen en cuenta los posibles sesgos de selección muestral. Los rendimientos de la educación siguen siendo la principal fuente para mejorar los ingresos. Sin embargo, la conclusión obtenida confirma que la educación superior es la más rentable, aunque del 2001 al 2009, estos rendimientos han experimentado una considerable reducción.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo: Esta pesquisa analisa a evolução da taxa de rendimento da educação no Panamá para os níveis primário, secundário e terciário. A base de dados utilizada é a Encuesta de Hogares del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censo (2001, 2004 e 2009). Se aplica a equação de Mincer levando em conta as possíveis distorções de seleção de amostra. Os rendimentos da educação continuam sendo a principal fonte para melhorar a renda. Contudo, a conclusão obtida confirma que a educação superior é a mais rentável, apesar de que de 2001 a 2009, estes rendimentos têm experimentado uma considerável redução.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This research analyzes the evolution of the rate of return of education in Panama at primary, secondary and higher education. The database the author made use of is the Household Survey of the National Institute for Statistics and Census (2001, 2004 and 2009). The Mincer equation and takes into account the possible bias in the sample selection. The yield of education is still the main source for increasing the income. Nevertheless the conclusion the author obtained confirms that higher education is the most profitable, although between 2001 and 2009 those yields decreased significantly.]]></p></abstract>
