Se encuestaron 115 estudiantes universitarios del último semestre de las carreras del área económico-administrativa de la Universidad Cristóbal Colón en Veracruz, México. La educación financiera se midió siguiendo la metodología que han empleado tres instituciones financieras (CONDUSEF, Banamex-UNAM y FINRA) para evaluar el conocimiento que tienen los jóvenes acerca de tasa de interés, inflación, ahorro, uso de tarjeta de crédito y elaboración de presupuestos. Los resultados demuestran que los estudiantes universitarios tienen el conocimiento y el hábito de elaborar presupuestos para planear sus gastos pero su nivel de educación financiera es muy bajo respecto al resto de las variables que se evalúan.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo: O presente estudo visa medir o nível de educação financeira dos jovens que já receberam instrução formal relacionada com as finanças. Foram entrevistados115 estudantes universitários do último semestre dos cursos da área económico-administrativa da Universidade Cristóbal Colón em Veracruz, México. A educação financeira foi medida conforme a metodologia usada por três instituições financeiras (CONDUSEF, Banamex-UNAM e FINRA) para avaliar o conhecimento dos jovens sobre a taxa de juros, a inflação, a poupança, o uso de cartões de crédito e a elaboração de orçamentos. Os resultados mostram que os estudantes universitários possuem o conhecimento e o hábito de elaborar orçamentos para planificar suas despesas, porém o seu nível de educação financeira é muito baixo em relação ao restante das variantes que foram avaliadas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The present study aims to measure the level of financial education of young people who have already received formal instruction related to finances. 115 university students were surveyed during the last semester of the courses of the economic-administrative area of the Cristóbal Colón University in Veracruz, Mexico. Financial education was measured following the methodology used by three financial institutions (CONDUSEF, Banamex-UNAM and FINRA) to evaluate the knowledge of young people about interest rate, inflation, savings, credit card use and budgeting .The results show that university students have the knowledge and habit of developing budgets to plan their expenses, but their level of financial education is very low compared to the rest of the variables that are evaluated.]]></p></abstract>
