Por un lado, interesa dar a conocer el relato &#8220;En el lago Pátzcuaro&#8221; de Rubén M. Campos (1876-1945) a la luz del estudio material de la Revista Moderna de México, específicamente dentro de sus contextos de publicación y edición; a la vez, interesa mostrar esta narración como resultado del impacto tecnológico de los nuevos medios de representación y reproducción de imágenes, tales como la fotografía y el cinematógrafo. Asimismo, en el auge y anhelo de progreso, el ferrocarril, como medio tecnológico, jugó también un papel de gran importancia en la configuración de las formas de mirar y de representar el paisaje nacional y el &#8220;yo&#8221; moderno. De forma que el texto recuperado se muestra como un ejemplo de la renovación e hibridación estética en literatura a partir de la reflexión de la mirada condicionada y modificada por diversos artefactos tecnológicos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The interest of this study has different directions. On the one hand, it is of interest to make known the story &#8220;En el lago Pátzcuaro&#8221; by Rubén M. Campos (1876-1945) in light of the material study of the Revista Moderna de México, specifically within its contexts of publication and edition; At the same time, it is of interest to show this narration as a result of the technological impact of the new means of representation and reproduction of images, such as photography and the cinematograph. Likewise, in the rise and desire for progress, the railroad, as a technological means, also played a very important role in shaping the ways of looking at and representing the national landscape and the modern &#8220;self&#8221;. So that the recovered text is shown as an example of aesthetic renewal and hybridization in literature from the reflection of the gaze conditioned and modified by various technological artifacts.]]></p></abstract>
