<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2007-24222017000500157&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2007-24222017000500157&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2007-24222017000500157&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: La fiabilidad de la información climática es sustancial en cualquier tipo de investigación, por ello es importante implementar herramientas y metodologías que permitan identificar datos que contengan errores, ya sea por la toma de datos, fallas en los sensores de los instrumentos, por la transcripción de la información y/o por la reubicación de las estaciones. En el presente trabajo se describe una propuesta metodológica para validar e identificar registros anómalos de precipitación, y temperatura mínima y máxima diaria. La propuesta detalla el desarrollo de una metodología que permitió seleccionar estaciones con información mínima necesaria, verificar su congruencia lógica, el proceso de un esquema de validación espacial y la aplicación de pruebas de homogeneidad normal estándar (SNHT), Pettitt y Buishand, para validar datos climatológicos, y comprobar la homogeneidad de datos de precipitación y temperaturas registrados en estaciones del Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN) ubicadas en el estado de Veracruz y áreas aledañas. Se observó que 72% de las estaciones con información de precipitación cumple el criterio de homogeneidad; en contraste, para la temperatura mínima y máxima, sólo el 31 y 30% de las estaciones cumplió dicho criterio. Lo anterior permitió fundamentar que es posible que los datos sean homogéneos, sin considerar ciclos o condiciones estacionales; sin embargo, es recomendable incluir el empleo de las pruebas sugeridas, tomando en cuenta los periodos de frío y/o calor, o bien la relación que exista con la dependencia de la precipitación (periodos húmedos y/o secos).]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Given that the reliability of climate information is crucial for any type of research, it is important to use tools and methodologies that identify erroneous data resulting from data collection, faulty instrument sensors, transcription of information, and the relocation of stations. This paper describes a methodology to validate and identify anomalous records of rainfall and low and high daily temperatures. It presents: the development of a methodology to select stations based on the least possible amount of information, and verify its logical coherence; the development of a spatial validation process; and the use of the Pettitt and Buishand Standard Normal Homogeneity Test (SNHT) to validate climatological data and to test the homogeneity of data recorded at National Weather Service (SMN) stations located in the state of Veracruz and surrounding areas. In terms of rainfall data, we found that 72% of the stations met the homogeneity criterion, while for low and high temperatures only 31 and 30% met the criterion. Therefore, the data may be homogeneous, without taking into account seasonal cycles or conditions. Nevertheless, it is recommended that the suggested tests be used, taking into account cold and/or hot periods and any possible relationships with the dependence on rainfall (wet and/or dry periods).]]></p></abstract>
