Las pérdidas por conexión (menores o localizadas) experimentales se obtuvieron como la diferencia entre la presión registrada cada 10 metros y las pérdidas por fricción en cada tramo, que se compararon con cuatro metodologías: la primera es la ecuación de la carga cinética y el coeficiente de pérdidas locales propuesto por Bagarello, Ferro, Provenzano y Pumo (1997); la segunda, propuesta por Howell y Barinas (1980); la tercera, propuesta por Keller y Bliesner (1990); finalmente, se propone una cuarta metodología, en la cual se modifica la longitud equivalente de las pérdidas de carga por conexión y el empleo de la ecuación de Keller y Bliesner (1990). La mejor ecuación fue la propuesta por Keller y Bliesner (1990), modificada en este trabajo, pues se alcanzaron errores promedio inferiores a 5.0% en todo el lateral. Además, por su versatilidad, se puede utilizar para determinar las pérdidas tramo a tramo o como factor multiplicador con las pérdidas por fricción en tuberías con salidas múltiples para determinar las pérdidas totales en un lateral, procedimiento que no se puede efectuar con las otras metodologías.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: In this paper an experimental research was carry out to compare the pressure losses caused by the connection on line emitter drip irrigation lateral. The connection losses (minor or localized) were obtained experimentally as the difference between the pressures recorded every 10 meters and friction losses in each length, which were compared with four methodologies; the first is the equation of the kinetic load and coefficient of local losses proposed by Bagarello, Ferro, Provenzano and Pumo (1997), the second proposal by Howell and Barinas (1980), the third proposal by Keller and Bliesner (1990), finally a fourth methodology was proposal to evaluate connection loss equivalent and then it was used in the equation of Keller and Bliesner (1990). The best equation was the proposal by Keller and Bliesner (1990), modified in this work. They reached averages lower errors at 5.0% in whole lateral. Furthermore, because of their versatility, it may be used to determine the stepwise loss analysis or as a multiplier factor with frictional losses in pipes with multiple outlets to determine the total losses in a lateral, procedure cannot be performed with the other methodologies.]]></p></abstract>
