Los temas de sexualidad se delegan a los docentes, a pesar de que estos refieren no contar con las suficientes competencias pedagógicas, psicológicas y de conocimiento. El objetivo de este estudio es presentar la propuesta de intervención &#8220;Soy capaz&#8221;, basada en la Teoría Cognitiva Social (TCS), para aumentar el conocimiento sobre el embarazo adolescente, las ITS y el VIH, las conductas positivas, la autoeficacia y las habilidades para impartir educación sexual en los docentes. Se aborda la postura de los docentes sobre la educación sexual, se explica cómo la TCS sustenta las variables del estudio y se presenta la propuesta de intervención. Los resultados de la prueba piloto muestran que los docentes calificaron positivamente esta propuesta de intervención en todos los reactivos: gusto, utilidad, satisfacción, expectativas y recomendación a colegas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Sex education in Mexico has been limited to providing information on biological and reproductive issues without considering psychological aspects. Sex education topics are delegated to teachers even though they report not having sufficient knowledge, pedagogical or psychological skills. The aim of this paper is to present the &#8220;Soy capaz&#8221; (&#8220;I am capable&#8221;) intervention proposal, based on the Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) in order to increase knowledge about teenage pregnancy, STIs and HIV, positive behaviors, self-efficacy, and skills in sex education. It addresses the teachers&#8217; position on sex education, explains how SCT underpins the study variables, and presents the intervention proposal. The results of the pilot test show that teachers rated this proposal positively in all the items: liking it, usefulness, satisfaction, expectations, and recommendation to colleagues.]]></p></abstract>
