<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2007-11322017000600112&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2007-11322017000600112&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2007-11322017000600112&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Para determinar si el manejo de condiciones de luz en vivero tiene potencial para manipular características morfo-fisiológicas de calidad de planta, en este estudio se cuantificaron los cambios de plántulas de Prosopis laevigata sometidas a condiciones distintas de luz solar, que consistieron en intemperie y sombreado con mallas de colores (azul, negra, roja y verde), durante su producción en vivero. Se evaluó el crecimiento en términos de ganancia de biomasa por plántula; la morfología, mediante patrones de asignación de biomasa y con el cálculo del área foliar específica, y la eficiencia fotosintética, como tasas de asimilación neta. La malla sombra roja promovió un crecimiento 24 % superior al de las plántulas a la intemperie. Bajo ese tratamiento, las plántulas asignaron menos de 50 % de la biomasa total a la parte aérea e incrementaron proporcionalmente la biomasa radical. En contraste, un sombreado con malla, independientemente del color, invirtió los patrones, y promovió una mayor asignación de biomasa al componente aéreo (más de 60 %). A la intemperie se redujo el área foliar específica, pero en sombra con la malla negra se incrementó hasta 106 %. Las tasas de asimilación neta más elevadas se tuvieron en plántulas de intemperie; no obstante, se evidenció una mejor eficiencia fotosintética en las plántulas de la malla roja, debido a su mayor crecimiento. Se concluye que es posible manipular en las plántulas de P. laevigata características morfo-fisiológicas de calidad, mediante el manejo de la luz en vivero.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: In order to determine if the management of nursery light conditions has potential to manipulate morpho-physiological characteristics of seedling quality, in this study the morpho-physiological changes of Prosopis laevigata seedlings subjected to varied light environments, both under full sun and shading with nets of different colors (blue, black, red, and green) during nursery production, are measured. We evaluated their growth, in terms of biomass gain per seedling; their morphology, trough biomass allocation patterns, and by calculating the specific leaf area, and their photosynthetic efficiency as net assimilation rates. Seedling grown under red net attained the highest growth, 24 % higher compared to seedlings grown under full sunlight. Biomass allocation patterns were affected. Under full sun, the seedlings allocated less than 50 % of the total biomass to shoot and increased proportionally the root biomass, whereas a shading with nets, regardless of their color, inverted the patterns, promoting a higher biomass allocation to the shoot (more than 60 %). Under full sunlight, specific leaf area diminished, but under shading it increased up to 106 % under the black net. The higher net assimilation rates were obtained by seedlings under full sunlight; however, better photosynthetic efficiency was achieved by seedlings grown under the red net due to their higher growth. It is concluded that it is possible to manipulate the morpho-physiological characteristics of P. laevigata seedling quality by managing the nursery light conditions.]]></p></abstract>
