Los productores aplican distintos tipos de fertilizantes en el manejo de aguacate &#8216;Hass&#8217; lo que genera diferencias en la producción. Por ello, el objetivo del presente trabajo fue estudiar la respuesta del rendimiento y calidad del fruto de aguacate &#8216;Hass&#8217; a la fuente de fertilización. Se estableció un experimento en un huerto de aguacate &#8216;Hass&#8217; de ocho años en Villa de Allende, Estado de México. En 2018 y 2019 se estudiaron cuatro fuentes de fertilizante aplicados al suelo: testigo, orgánico, mineral y combinado. Se midió el rendimiento (kg árbol-1), número, peso individual y tamaño de frutos. Para evaluar el comportamiento postcosecha, los frutos se almacenaron durante nueve días a 22 °C y 90% de HR. En este periodo se midió el contenido de materia seca, pérdida acumulada de peso, firmeza y color. Con el fertilizante orgánico se obtuvo mayor rendimiento (kg árbol-1) y número de frutos. El contenido de materia seca (23.3%) y pérdida de peso (9%) no difirió entre tratamientos. En madurez de consumo la firmeza de los frutos de la fuente mineral fue superior al testigo. El ángulo de matiz del exocarpio en los frutos de la fuente combinada fue similar al testigo. En general los frutos de la fuente mineral y orgánica desarrollaron mejor color externo. En conclusión, la aplicación del fertilizante orgánico mejoró el rendimiento de fruto, mientras que con la fuente mineral los frutos fueron superiores en calidad y comportamiento postcosecha.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Optimal nutrition of fruit trees is critical to obtaining high yields of quality fruit for the fresh fruit market. Producers apply different types of fertilizers in the management of &#8216;Hass&#8217; avocados, which generates differences in production. Therefore, this work aimed to study the response of the yield and quality of &#8216;Hass&#8217; avocado fruits to the fertilization source. An experiment was established in an eight-year-old &#8216;Hass&#8217; avocado orchard in Villa de Allende, State of Mexico. In 2018 and 2019, four sources of fertilizer applied to the soil were studied: control, organic, mineral, and combined. Yield (kg tree-1), number, individual weight and size of the fruits were measured. To evaluate the postharvest behavior, the fruits were stored for nine days at 22 °C and 90% RH. In this period, dry matter content, cumulative weight loss, firmness, and color were measured. Organic fertilizer led to a higher yield (kg tree-1) and number of fruits. Dry matter content (23.3%) and weight loss (9%) did not differ between treatments. At maturity of consumption, the firmness of the fruits of the mineral source was superior to the control. The hue angle of the exocarp in the fruits of the combined source was similar to the control. In general, the fruits of the mineral and organic sources developed better external color. In conclusion, the application of organic fertilizer improved fruit yield, whereas with the mineral source, the fruits were superior in quality and postharvest behavior.]]></p></abstract>
