<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2007-09342018000904284&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2007-09342018000904284&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2007-09342018000904284&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen La producción de plántulas por esquejes para la siembra de estevia, es uno de los métodos más utilizados en México y en el mundo, por lo económico y su relativa facilidad para realizarlos; no obstante, la producción de plántulas de Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni con esquejes se ve limitado por el uso de aguas muy duras con una conductividad eléctrica elevada, de tal forma que en ocasiones las raíces no se desarrollan y los esqueje se secan. El objetivo del trabajo fue evaluar tres tipos de sustratos y tres calidades de agua, en el desarrollo de plántulas de S. rebaudiana en el estado de Yucatán. El estudio se realizó en Muna Yucatán y se probaron tres tipos de sustratos (espuma comercial, mezcla a base de musgo y fibra de coco) y tres calidades de agua de riego (2 130 ppm, 1 230 ppm y 330 ppm de sólidos disueltos totales) en la producción de plántulas de la variedad Morita II. Se establecieron 100 esquejes por tratamiento y se midió la longitud (cm) de raíz y la altura de la plántula cada 10 días. Se encontró un efecto del tipo de sustrato (p&lt; 0.05) en la altura de plántula y tamaño de raíz. Con respecto a la calidad de agua se encontró efecto en la altura de la plántula (p&lt; 0.05), pero no en la longitud de la raíz (p&gt; 0.05). Se concluye que el sustrato a base de mezcla de musgo y el de fibra de coco formaron raíces en menor tiempo y produjeron plántulas más altas. Esto es una ventaja ya que se reduce el tiempo de producción y existe una mayor probabilidad de sobrevivencia de plántulas al trasplante.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The production of seedlings by cuttings for the sowing of stevia, is one of the most used methods in Mexico and in the world, for the economic and its relative ease to make them; however, the production of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni seedlings with cuttings is limited by the use of very hard waters with high electrical conductivity, so that sometimes the roots do not develop and the cuttings dry up. The objective of the work was to evaluate three types of substrates and three water qualities, in the development of S. rebaudiana seedlings in the state of Yucatan. The study was carried out in Muna Yucatan, and three types of substrates were tested (commercial foam, moss-based mixture and coconut fiber) and three qualities of irrigation water (2 130 ppm, 1 230 ppm and 330 ppm of dissolved solids total) in the production of seedlings of the Morita II variety. The 100 cuttings were established per treatment and the length (cm) of the root and the height of the seedling were measured every 10 days. An effect of the type of substrate (p&lt; 0.05) on seedling height and root size was found. With regard to water quality, an effect was found on the seedling height (p&lt; 0.05), but not on the length of the root (p&gt; 0.05). It is concluded that the substrate based on mixture of moss and coconut fiber formed roots in less time and produced higher seedlings. This is an advantage since the production time is reduced and there is a greater probability of survival of seedlings to the transplant.]]></p></abstract>
