Prohexadiona de calcio (P-Ca) reduce crecimiento vegetativo y favorece floración en frutales templados como manzano y subtropicales como aguacate. En mango &#8216;Ataulfo&#8217;, no hay información al respecto. El objetivo fue determinar dosis, época y número de aplicación de P-Ca en mango &#8216;Ataulfo&#8217; con la finalidad de asegurar floración y encontrar un sustituto para paclobutrazol (PBZ). El estudio se realizó de 2012 a 2014 en Tepic y San Blas Nayarit, en ambos años, los árboles fueron podados después de cosecha. Experimento 1 y 2: P-Ca (150, 250 y 500 mg L-1) a 0+10+20+30 días después de la poda (ddp) y 30+45+60 ddp, respectivamente. Experimento 3: P-Ca (500 mg L-1) una, dos o tres aplicaciones a 0, 0+10 y 0+10+20 ddp y Experimento 4: P-Ca (150 y 500 mg L-1) a 30+45+60 ddp y 1 500 mg L-1 en una sola aplicación (1 x) 30 ddp. En todos los experimentos se incluyó un tratamiento estándar de PBZ (2 500 mg L-1) 30 ddp y un testigo (agua más surfactante). El diseño fue completamente al azar, 6 repeticiones, un árbol como unidad experimental. En Experimento 2, se logró reducir un 35% el crecimiento vegetativo con P-Ca 500 mg L-1 (3 x) entre 30-60 ddp. Esta misma dosis de P-Ca (500 mg L-1) (3 x) a 30, 45 y 60 ddp, o una sola aplicación (1 500 mg L-1) 30 ddp logró igual el efecto de PBZ en adelanto (20-35 días) y porcentaje de floración. En los dos ciclos, ambos productos mejoraron amarre y producción de fruto. Con base a los resultados obtenidos se considera que P-Ca pudiera ser un sustituto para PBZ en mango &#8216;Ataulfo&#8217; para asegurar floración y producciones regulares año con año.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The irregular in mango production is attributed to variation in bloom. Prohexadione calcium (P-Ca) reduces vegetative growth and promotes flowering in temperate and subtropical fruits such as apple and avocado. In mango 'Ataulfo', no information about. The objective was to determine dosage, time and application number P-Ca in mango 'Ataulfo' in order to ensure flowering and find a replacement for paclobutrazol (PBZ). The study was conducted in 2012-2014 in Tepic and San Blas Nayarit, in both years, the trees were pruned after harvest. Experiment 1 and 2: P-Ca (150, 250 and 500 mg L-1) 0 + 10 + 20 + 30 days after pruning (ddp) and 30 + 45 + 60 ddp, respectively. Experiment 3: P-Ca (500 mg L-1) one, two or three applications to 0, 0 and 0 + 10 + 10 + 20 ddp and Experiment 4: P-Ca (150 and 500 mg L-1) 30 + 45 + 60 ddp and 1500 mg L-1 in one application (1 x) 30 ddp. In all experiments a standard treatment of PBZ (2500 mg L-1) 30 ddp and control (water plus surfactant) was included. The design was completely randomized, 6 replicates a tree as experimental unit. In Experiment 2, it was reduced by 35% vegetative growth with P-Ca 500 mg L-1 (3 x) 30-60 ddp. This same dose of P-Ca (500 mg L-1) (3 x) at 30, 45 and 60 ddp, or one application (1 500 mg L-1) 30 ddp achieved as the effect of PBZ in advance (20 -35 days) and percentage of flowering. In both cycles, both products improved mooring and fruit production. Based on the results obtained it is considered that P-Ca could be a substitute for PBZ in mango 'Ataulfo' to ensure flowering and regular productions each year.]]></p></abstract>
